#FinalFederation Spätestens seit der Rückentwicklung von Twitter ist mit Mastodon einer der zahlreichen Fediverse-Dienste auch im Mainstream angekommen. Zusammen mit zwei Fediverse-Expert:innen und Mastodon-Instanzbetreiber:innen geben wir einen Überblick über die Weiten und Entwicklungen des Fediverse. Neben technischen Grundlagen, wie ActivityPub und das Design einer üblichen Instanz stellen wir uns auch dem Für und Wider des Instanzbetriebs. #Debian30 Am 16.08.1993 stellte Ian Murdock mit Debian eine frische Linux-Distribution vor, die heutzutage nicht mehr wegzudenken ist. Knapp jünger als Slackware ist Debian eine der ältesten aber immer noch aktiven Linux-Distributionen, die vor allem im Server- und Embedded-Umfeld eine weite Verbreitung genießt. Für Stabilität bekannt, bildet sie auch die Basis für zahlreiche davon abgezweigten Projekten, wie beispielsweise Ubuntu, Siduction oder Univention Corporate Server. #FocusOnLinux In den letzten Wochen wurde kein Thema so hitzig diskutiert wie der Zugriff auf den RHEL-Quellcode. Proxmox veröffentlicht Backup Server 3.0 und Mail Gateway 8.0, während Fedora die Einführung von Opt-Out-Telemetrie diskutiert. Die EU billigt die Übernahme von VMware und Homelab-Enthusiast:innen dürften traurig über die Einstellung von Intels NUC-Serie sein. openSUSE gibt Einblicke in die zukünftige Roadmap und Thunderbird stellt eine neue Oberfläche vor.
