Dr. David Ahearn’s goal early on was simply to figure out a way to get more great dentistry done – without beating up his body or getting stressed out while doing it.  To solve this, he studied the world’s most productive manufacturers. Applying those findings to dentistry, he was able to create new systems to improve every aspect of dental productivity.  It wasn’t long before many of his colleagues began asking for help to solve their own design and productivity problems. This lead to equipment and training advances that allowed him to take his practice to the next level – and to help dentists across the country do the same.  This work is further enhanced by day-to-day testing of new designs, technology and systems at Dr. Ahearn’s two thriving New England practices – which he continues to own and operate today.  Dr. Ahearn has held faculty positions at both the University of Michigan and NYU, and was a founding member of the ADA's Ergonomics Subcommittee. He is a frequent lecturer and contributor to numerous dental publications, including multiple chapters in the ADA’s current Practical Guide to Dental Office Design. 

Carlos leverages his experience as a professional comedian to create an engaging, educational, and entertaining CE experience - his events are both informative and hilarious! Carlos Rodríguez grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in Atlanta, GA. He has been married for over 25 years and he and his wife have 2 wonderful children. Carlos has always loved and had a passion for comedy, especially standup. When he's not busy cracking jokes, his hobbies include photography, fishing and camping. He served honorably in the US Navy as a Dental Tech for 3 years and transitioned to civilian life in 1990. He has been a dental hygienist for 23 years and has a passion for making his patients smile! Carlos has performed in clubs and colleges and for fund raising and corporate events all over the east coast! He also has a fun and lighthearted Podcast with Sandy Lee who also is a Dental Hygienist. Dr. Bobbi Stanley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry but education has been a mainstay of her 25-year career. As owner and principal dentist of one of the largest comprehensive dental practices in North Carolina, her goal has been excellence in patient care through continuing education, the latest dental equipment and technology and superior materials. Dr. Bobbi Stanley reinforces these guiding principals with her team members and offers a myriad of opportunities for dental continuing education for associate dentists, auxiliary clinical team members, and dental office team members. Dr. Bobbi Stanley is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (DICOI), a Fellow with the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO) and a Fellow at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). Dr. Bobbi Stanley is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She is Co-Founder and Senior Instructor at Stanley Institute for Comprehensive Dentistry in Cary, NC, as well as a Senior Instructor at the International Association of Orthodontics in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and The Facial Beauty Institute in Memphis, Tennessee.

George Wolfe is President of DMG America, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high quality restorative and preventative professional dental materials. Dr. Richard Mounce practices endodontics in Eagle River, AK. He has lectured globally and is widely published in the specialty of endodontics. Dr. Mounce has been a consultant and key opinion leader for a wide number of companies including SybronEndo, Vista, Mani, EasyEndo USA, Tun Ultrasonics, and Metabiomed. 

Dr. Brandon Ryff grew up in Tempe Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with dual degrees in Physiology from the College of Medicine, and Molecular & Cellular Biology from the College of Science. Upon graduation, Dr. Ryff then attended the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. After Dental School, Dr. Ryff became an associate in a small group of privately owned dental practices in Arizona. Subsequently, this group was approached and acquired by a national DSO backed by private equity investors. This transition was a complex process that Dr. Ryff found very interesting. Watching his father-in-law successfully serve as the President & CEO of a multibillion-dollar international corporation only further fueled Dr. Ryff’s interest in business and executive leadership. Accordingly, Dr. Ryff then completed a 2-year business program, earning a Professional Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard University Extension School.  Alongside completing his business program and practicing dentistry, Dr. Ryff was also appointed Vice President of Business Development within the private equity DSO group that had acquired the practice. Dr. Ryff was involved in multiple acquisitions made by the DSO from 2013-2015, during which time the company ranked #14 for the Inc 500’s fastest growing companies in America.  A drastic shift in executive leadership and corporate strategy at the DSO prompted a strategic transition for Dr. Ryff himself. In August 2016, Dr. Ryff left the corporate practice environment and acquired a private practice in Paradise Valley Arizona. During the first year, Dr. Ryff applied knowledge he had gained from his tenure in business development and business school to create a unique team environment. After hearing through social media of a themed ‘team-unity lunch’, held in good fun to help mend wounds of the 2016 post-election divide, the Washington Post featured an article about the unique atmosphere and team at Dr. Ryff’s practice.  Among many factors, the leadership and management lessons Dr. Ryff acquired through his work and educational experiences contributed to a 33% growth in his new practice during the first year. Behind the scenes, Dr. Ryff negotiated improved terms with suppliers, vendors and labs with whom he had previously established positive relationships. On the front line, Dr. Ryff focused on leadership and worked to build a culture of positivity and appreciation. With the simple mission of providing clinical excellence and uncompromising service, Dr. Ryff rallied an exceptional team of focused, motivated, and accomplished professionals to take the practice to the next level. To reward their hard work and dedication, Dr. Ryff also implemented a unique bonus program, which resulted in pay increases of 24%, on average, for each employee. The combined result of applied strategic management principles, his consistent focus on positive leadership, and implementing a generous employee bonus program was a 75% increase in profit dollars for his first year as owner, 2017.  The journey for Dr. Ryff and his team was not without some turbulence however. Months after becoming the new owner, Dr. Ryff learned that his landlord had suddenly passed away, leaving the entire property to charity.  A big commercial real estate developer made intentions made clear that the plan was to demolish and redevelop the property. Accordingly, Dr. Ryff found a new location to continue the 60-year legacy of the practice. With the unwavering support of his loyal team and their active participation in all levels of the process, Dr. Ryff and team built a brand new state-of-the-art facility, which will serve to take the practice well into the next generation. 

Jill began her dental career in 1992 as a Dental Assistant and Receptionist. At the same time, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Helplessly watching her mother suffer horribly with oral side effects from chemotherapy, she developed a strong interest in the oral concerns of cancer survivors. Jill earned her degree and became licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 1994 and continued to pursue knowledge to help this very underserved area of cancer care. After losing her father to Hodgkin’s Disease in 2005, she developed an enhanced level of motivation to act and do more. Jill created a volunteer program providing oral care kits with product samples and patient education at a local oncology department from 2006 to 2012. She earned a certificate in Oncology Management from the University of Southern Indiana. Jill and her husband are the owners of Side Effect Support LLC (www.sideeffectsupport.com), which is dedicated to helping cancer survivors manage short-term oral side effects and prevent long-term damage to oral health associated with chemotherapy, radiation to the head and neck, and some targeted therapies. Jill is a 2014 recipient of the Sunstar Americas/RDH Award of Distinction, a member of the Registered Dental Hygienist Advisory Board for the Oral Cancer Foundation, and has been published in several dental and oncology publications. She is a member of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, the American Dental Hygiene Association and the American Academy of Dental Oncology. 

Dan Gospe is the COO of dmi Networking, a company specializing in dental technology and HIPAA compliance. Dan’s introduction to HIPAA began 15 years ago when he managed the trauma registry at his local hospital, where he found himself navigating the corridors to find a key to the shredding bin. Since then, his appreciation for understanding the reasons for HIPAA compliance, and how to effectively integrate them into healthcare operations while minimizing headaches has become a personal passion. Since then, Dan has conducted hundreds of in-depth risk assessments for both dental practices and hospital departments. Dan has also authored numerous articles on HIPAA best practices, and we are pleased to have him joining us today.

Samantha Cheetham is SDI’s CEO and has been with the company for the past 17 years, mainly in sales and marketing. Samantha started as a sales rep for SDI in Australia, then became a regional manager for the company in California. Samantha returned to Australia in 1998 when she eventually became in charge of global sales and marketing. In 2016, Samantha became CEO/Managing Director for SDI.

Doctor Chiappetti is a native of Scottsdale and received his B.A. degree from the University of Arizona in 1980. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of Southern California in 1988 and has been committed to continuing education ever since. Dr. Chiappetti has concentrated his time and skills in learning advanced procedures and techniques in general and cosmetic dentistry. He has lectured and presented seminars on Smile Design and dental aesthetics.
