William & Lily retired in 2009. William from the computer industry, Lily from government, construction CAD/CAM project work. Two years after retiring, a very devastating earthquake hit the area of Peru where Lily was born. She felt strongly called by God to do something for these people. They founded LAMA ministries as a 501c3 charity in 2019, and acquired a donated piece of land in the middle of a village that is surrounded by 5 others. They broke ground and opened the doors of La Misión in 2013. It took a few more years to add a few more floors and then have resident missionaries present from 2015 till now. Monica Dunn, a dental hygienist, has dedicated her life to public health with a primary focus on dentistry. Her efforts are focused on working to implement programs to deliver oral health care to disadvantaged populations. She began her career 31 years ago as a dental assistant and quickly moved into dental hygiene. Her experience includes providing care to patients of all ages in multiple settings, including schools, mobile clinics, and office settings. Monica is an active grant writer and has served as project director for many public health initiatives, including two portable dental clinics created to provide preventive services in schools and community agencies, and a three-chair mobile clinic which was established to provide comprehensive care to underserved populations in rural communities. She was also an integral part of the founding team for a brick and mortar clinic in a local health department. She has also developed programs to serve families participating in the Women, Infants, and Children programs in various counties. Monica has had over 22 years of managerial and administrative experience and currently serves as the assistant administrator and dental clinic director for a local health department. Her area of expertise is program development and implementation and she has a true passion for helping disadvantaged populations including the people of Ica, Peru. Monica has a very special connection to Peru as two of her four children are Peruvian. Her goal is to work with La Misión to build a sustainable dental program in the Ica area, to improve the oral health of the underserved population and to share the love of Christ through working in the communities.

Dr. Ken Snyder is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine. He was in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona for 17 years and for the past 24 years he has been the Dental Director and the Children’s Dentist at the St. Vincent de Paul’s Children’s Dental Clinic. Recently he has retired from Clinical Practice and was appointed Executive Dental Director of the St. Vincent de Paul Clinic. Dr. Snyder has done extensive lecturing throughout the U. S. and Canada on the benefits of Humor, Laughter and Play in our Personal and Professional lives. He is a member of the American Dental Association. Dr. Heuerman has been practicing dentistry for almost 30 years. He enjoys the challenge of dentistry and making long-lasting relationships with his patients. Dr. Zadeh is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He received his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Southern California (USC) Ostrow School of Dentistry in 1987. He has completed post-doctoral clinical education in Periodontology and earned a PhD degree in immunology from the University of Connecticut, Schools of dental medicine and medicine in 1992. Dr. Zadeh is internationally recognized for his clinical and scientific expertise. Becky Bye is both a licensed attorney and licensed dentist, and practices in the area of medical malpractice law, including dental malpractice law, as well as other areas of personal injury. Becky practiced law for a large law firm and in the government before choosing to use her previous background in science and her passion for healthcare to attend dental school. While Becky was in dental school, she maintained an interest in law and continued to use her legal background for the benefit of patients. During her time in dental school, she was elected President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Student Dental Association and was also elected to serve on the board for her student chapter of Alpha Omega. After graduating dental school and practicing general dentistry in the Denver metropolitan area, Dr. Bye merged her passion for law and the health sciences as a practicing attorney at Tomazin, Hillyard & Clor, LLP.

Dr. Petruska grew up in Hungary and after graduation immigrated to the US in 1988. After passing his dental boards he started practicing as an associate in Santa Barbara, Ca. During his employment he introduced implant dentistry, orthodontics and complex prosthodontics in his employers practice tripling it’s production. He ran two of his own practices for 7 years, but found practice ownership too demanding. He sold his practices and right after was diagnosed with cancer. After his recovery he continued his career as an independent contractor, coaching his colleagues in their own offices to perform molar endos, implant dentistry and surgical procedures. He started a dental advocacy and marketing group to elevate the status and prestige of dentistry within the medical profession, society and media.
