Dr. Evans, who graduated from high school in Williamsburg, Virginia, began his professional career at East Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He then conducted cancer research at the National Institute of Health before returning to graduate school at the Medical College of Virginia, where he received a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Evans continued his education, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia in 1982.
