ACPP's Fellowship of Clinical Excellence. Dr. John Kihm
Interview with Dr. John Kihm, Concierge Physician, ACPP Fellowships in Clinical Excellence in Concierge Medicine Program Coordinator MAY 2018 - The American College of Private Physicians (ACPP) is a professional organization dedicated to the support and advancement of concierge and direct practice physicians. Today, we talk to Dr. John Kihm, a Concierge Medicine Physician from Durham, NC and ACPP Board Medicine about the 1-2 year curriculum and Fellowship in Clinical Excellence in Concierge Medicine. The ACPP offers 1- and 2-year fellowships in Clinical Excellence in Concierge Medicine. According to interviews with graduating residents in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, today’s residencies do not train residents for the real-world workforce. Upon completion of residency training, they are ill-prepared to practice quality, outpatient-based medicine and are not trained to face the business aspects of medical practice. This fellowship will prepare the Clinical Excellence Fellow to practice at the Concierge level successfully in today’s world. John T. Kihm, MD, FACP, has been a successful primary care internal medicine physician for more than 30 years, is here to take care of you. He is also the American College of Private Physicians (ACPP.md) Fellowships in Clinical Excellence in Concierge Medicine Program Coordinator He uses his listening and communication skills, and extensive experience and knowledge to form a correct diagnosis and treatment. He spends the time that it takes to help his patients. His interests are varied but unified with the intent to help others. Source: American College of Private Physicians (ACPP - info@acpp.md | (855) 332-5120 | www.acpp.md) and Priority Medicine (919) 471-3351 Durham, NC - www.prioritymedicine.com The ACPP members seeking to add these fellowship-trained candidates to their medical practices may stay abreast of developments by connecting with the ACPP, and by tuning into the ACPP Newsletter. The ACPP Fellowships in Clinical Excellence seeks to prepare the fellow to practice “in the real world,” at the level of Concierge Medicine. Fellowships will benefit by learning in 1 or 2 years what normally takes a decade or more to learn through medical practice experience. ACPP members will benefit by having a highly trained applicant pool from which to draw future partner candidates. Ultimately, patients will benefit by having superb physicians. Training sites are offered by practicing Concierge Medicine members of the ACPP. Please contact the ACPP for additional information. Visit: www.ACPP.md © Concierge Medicine Today, LLC. Spotlight on Concierge Medicine Podiatry
"As a concierge physician, I aim to truly put my patients first. I am able to see patients in-office, but I also make myself available for house-calls and remote telemedicine services upon request. My goal is to create a niche in my field and to introduce new techniques. I love what I do because I am constantly learning while medicine is constantly evolving." Meet Jennifer Nicole Falk, DPM, AACFAS Owner, At Your Feet Concierge Podiatry | Concierge Doctor | Entrepreneur | Avid Runner Dr. Jennifer Falk is a board certified concierge podiatrist who specializes in sports podiatry and cosmetic podiatric procedures. She received her doctorate from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and did her surgical residency training at Scripps Mercy Hospital (San Diego, CA) and Kaiser Permanente (Sacramento, CA). After residency, she received additional training in aesthetic procedures through the International Aesthetic Foot Society. Her podiatry practice caters to runners, athletes, and busy working professionals, who may not have the time or means of easily getting in to see the doctor. She is available for in-office visits, but her house-call & telemedicine services also allow for her to see her patients when it is more convenient for them. Background: Jennifer started running at the age of three, was a 5-time All-Conference & All-State cross-country runner in high school, and was named the North Dakota Senior Athlete of the Year in Cross Country in 2002. She continued to run in college, but after sustaining her fourth foot fracture, she stopped competing, temporarily, to focus on her education. These fractures, though, were a catalyst for her focus on podiatric medicine and for her passion and drive in getting athletes back to their optimal health and sporting potential. Her goal is to provide the necessary tools to help keep her patients on their feet. Jennifer has actively been involved in organizations, multi-disciplinary meetings, public speaking engagements, and academic sessions, as well as research and lecturing. With her extensive athletic history, she has a special interest in sports, specifically runners. She continues to run today and enjoys competing in half marathons and has a personal best time of 1:30:15. Functional Concierge Medicine
Meet Dr. Stacey Robinson, Concierge Functional Medicine in St Petersburg, FL www.robinsonmed.com In 2008, she opened Robinson MD so she could care for patients in a more thorough, individualized way. Their mission is to empower and inspire you to achieve your best health. Dr. Robinson is board-certified in Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine. She is also a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine and the American Academy of Private Physicians. Recently, Dr. Robinson released her new book entitled, Road Map to Health. Download over 25 of Dr. Robinson’s favorite clean eating recipes for free with your book purchase -- https://www.roadmap2healthbook.com/ Inside the new book (available here: https://www.roadmap2healthbook.com/), Road Map to Health offers proven health advice and resources and easy-to-follow steps that will help you to feel better, look better and live longer. You will learn: • How to incorporate the 3 most powerful components of optimal health into your busy life. • Which essential resources you need at your fingertips to make the best health choices. • How to prevent and treat disease and chronic illnesses without medications. • Why your genes are not always your destiny. Dr. Robinson was born and raised in Red Bluff, a rural town in northern California. When she entered undergrad at California State University at Long Beach, she only knew that she had a deeply ingrained need to care for people. After she realized that medicine was her calling, she attended Tulane University School of Medicine on an Air Force scholarship, graduating at the top of her class in 1996. She completed her residency at Travis Air Force Base. Being a part of the Air Force was one of the best experiences of her life. She proudly served in the Air Force from 1996-2003, serving as medical director of the MacDill Primary Care Clinic, caring for our troops, their families, and retired service members. After her service, she worked in various practice types, all pressuring doctors to attain quantity over quality. Over those years, she came to the sad realization of the futile way in which she was practicing medicine – not enough time with patients leading to more medications and less true healing.
