“I brace myself for sexism, misogyny and racism” - Eni Aluko on being a female football pundit

We have a Lioness in the studio! Today - we’re joined by Eni Aluko. Eni is a broadcaster, football executive and former professional football player who has represented England on the world stage and at the Olympics. She’s also a qualified lawyer - there’s nothing this woman can’t do. Since retiring from professional football - she has become one of the country’s most recognisable football pundits. As a former international player, with a lifelong passion for football - Eni is more qualified than anyone for this role - however, the culture of racism and sexism around football has made it an toxic environment for her. We spoke to Eni about the reality of misogyny, racism in football, how she has dealt with the online abuse she is subjected to and how we can move forward to make football a better (or at least more tolerable environment for women) Follow @enialuko on InstagramThank you to Refuge - the UK's largest specialist domestic abuse organisation - for making this conversation happen. Just Us: Accidental nudity, Emma Watson and the cult of matcha

Hello, hello, hello! This week we’ve got two surprisingly similar awkwards… apologies to anyone who has been in the vicinity of either Em or Alex’s windows over the last week. We also discuss JK Rowling’s comments following Emma Watson’s appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast. Do the Harry Potter actors have a responsibility to publicly speak out against her comments - and what is the effect of JK Rowling vehemently doubling down on her anti-trans views? And we take a moment to discuss a very serious question - is everyone pretending to like matcha? YOUTUBE: ContraPoints PODCAST: The Witch Trials of JK RowlingIf you want to get in touch you can email us on shouldideletethatpod@gmail.com Follow us on Instagram:@shouldideletethat@em_clarkson@alexlight_ldnShould I Delete That is produced by Faye LawrenceStudio Manager: Elliott MckayVideo Editor: Celia GomezSocial Media Manager: Sarah EnglishMusic: Alex Andrew Hosted on Acast. One false allegation destroyed my career... with Jess Thorpe

Jess was an NHS nurse working on a mental health ward when a false accusation was made against her, which led into a spiral of bureaucracy that ended her nursing career and changed her life forever… Although Jess very rarely does interviews - her story was highly publicised in the UK press, so we wanted to give her the opportunity to tell her story in full and in her own words. We spoke to Jess about the fragility of women’s reputations, the pressures on nurses and healthcare professionals and how we can both love the NHS but also hold it accountable on the occasions that it does let us down. Follow @thesliceofjess on InstagramIf you want to get in touch you can email us on shouldideletethatpod@gmail.com Follow us on Instagram:@shouldideletethat@em_clarkson@alexlight_ldnShould I Delete That is produced by Faye LawrenceStudio Manager: Elliott MckayVideo Editor: Celia GomezSocial Media Manager: Sarah EnglishMusic: Alex Andrew Hosted on Acast.
