Today’s guest is competent, a teacher at heart, and was granted the Business Leader of the Year in 2016. Introducing Amir Rashidian, Owner of Mid Atlantic Clinic of Chiropractic. Amir sits down with Gregory McDonough and shares how engaging in consistent exercise and maintaining fitness is an ongoing commitment. Amir explains that once you start, it's important to continue exercising throughout your life. Stopping can result in regression and loss of progress. Listen to the amazing advice Amir gives about setting your core values and not compromising! Takeaways:Having an endurance mindset has affected Amir’s life unexpectedly by believing. Amir thinks that most of the time, people fail at achieving their goals because they are not equipped to handle the stress that comes their way. A best practice is to go one step at a time to avoid stressing yourself out.At Amir’s company, they focus on GAP, General Adaptation Potential. GAP stands for how much stress your body can mentally and physically handle. If your stress level is high, you are susceptible to illness and injury. Even though stress can be bad for your body and mental health, stress can also be used for good things like preparing for an endurance race to help adapt your body. It is important to manage your stress levels to balance your body correctly. In the UFC, when they are preparing for a fight, they will gather tougher sparring partners when it gets closer to their fight date. Sometimes, training hard can injure the fighters so, they started to use a heart rate variability. Heart rate variability measures your tolerance to stress. This has been able to help reduce injuries for the fighters. One of the biggest deficiencies in America today is stomach acid. Stomach acid starts to decline because people are in a state of constant heightened awareness. Being in a continuous state of stress and anxiety can deteriorate your body over time. Try to relax and control your stress by meditating or taking a break. There is a product of cold gloves that you can wear while you are working out or training. In the gloves is cold water that cools your hands down. When your blood is colder, your endurance is much higher. With it being cold, you can do 20-30% more repetitions or you could run further and longer before you experience fatigue.Quote of the Show:“The more I use that endurance mindset, the more I realize what I am capable of.” - Amir RashidianLinks:Amir Rashidian’s LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amir-rashidian-a0b3a67/ Amir Rashidian’s Website: https://drrashidian.com/ Mid Atlantic Clinic of Chiropractic’s Website: https://www.midatlanticclinic.com/ Amir Rashidian’s Twitter: https://twitter.com/MidAtlanticCC The StressProof Life: https://www.midatlanticclinic.com/the-stressproof-life/Cracking the Stress Secret: https://drrashidian.com/book/ Real Chiropractic YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@RealChiropractic CoolMitt Gloves: https://www.coolmitt.com/ Ways to Tune In:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/580aLDKac1ld031W4nWDtp Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/chief-endurance-officer/id1680214218?uo=4Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy50cmFuc2lzdG9yLmZtL2NoaWVmLWVuZHVyYW5jZS1vZmZpY2Vy Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/3c96880f-8dcd-4a6e-b1c8-fda816f872a9 Podcast Addict: https://podcastaddict.com/podcast/4340732 Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/show/5897357 Player FM: https://player.fm/series/series-3462719 Podchaser: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/chief-endurance-officer-5250102 Listen Notes: https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/chief-endurance-officer-ringmaster-KMdv2I8XwkN/ YouTube: https://youtu.be/zxKjxaUcm_M Transistor: https://share.transistor.fm/s/ae76a1c5 Keep up to date on our social media accounts:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@chiefenduranceofficer?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chiefenduranceofficerpodcast/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/C_E_Opodcast Chief Endurance Officer is produced and sponsored by Ringmaster, on a mission to create connections through B2B podcasts. Today’s guest is an inspiring quadruple amputee that participates in many endurance races. Introducing Victoria Mugo, Chief Executive Officer at Dynamite Consulting LLC. Victoria sits down with Gregory McDonough and shares how she motivated herself to take her first steps all by herself. Victoria discusses how she was able to train her mind to accept her body and push through her challenges. Listen to the amazing advice Victoria gives about staying focused on your goals! Takeaways:Victoria didn't know that she had an endurance mindset until four years ago when she became a quad amputee due to contracting pneumonia which lead to an infection that became septic. When Victoria had her limbs removed in order to save her life, she feared that she would never be able to compete in endurance races and run her own company. She decided to not let her surgery keep her behind so she put her mind over matters and was determined to continue with her goals.Victoria made small goals with herself to help get her back on her feet. She bought bands to exercise her limbs to build strength. Victoria started to train her mind to get her back into the rhythm again of being able to do what she thought was impossible. While Victoria was waiting for her insurance to be approved in order to go to physical therapy, her friend built a wheelchair ramp for Victoria’s house and with that ramp, Victoria took this advantage and started to train herself to walk. She didn’t want to wait any longer to get back to walking. After a month of being released home from the hospital, Victoria competed in her first 5K endurance walk.Victoria encourages people to try new things that they never thought they could accomplish. She believes that if you try something new and you don’t like it, you will know what your limits are and what you can achieve. This will push you to finish your challenges.Quote of the Show:“I refuse to be put down by any challenge in my life.
