Hey everybody! Episode 49 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with my friend Bill Park. Bill and I met in the Peruvian Amazon about a decade ago. Bill created an Amazonia superfood company that works with indigenous communities and aims to empower them and preserve and regenerate the biodiversity of the jungle. He also started an NGO, Acaté Amazon Conservation, that works with the Matses community, aimed at “preserving the Amazon Rainforest in partnership with its protectors.” I had the opportunity to visit the Matses with Bill, working on a project of creating a plant medicine encyclopedia in Matses, by the Matses, and for the Matses. I learned a lot on that trip and have a lot of respect for Bill and the projects he is working on and the knowledge that he has. Hey everybody! Episode 45 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Tree Carr. Tree was introduced to me by a mutual friend, Luis, who I interviewed in episode 25. Tree is a Death Doula and a Dreaming Guide. I find these two topics fascinating, because for me, if this path with plants and shamanism had to be boiled down to two topics, death and dreaming could certainly be seen as two of the fundamental pillars. So it was fascinating for me to be able to speak with Tree who specializes in exactly these two areas. Tree has a beautiful way of expressing herself and bringing these, sometimes abstract ideas, into very easy language and concepts, which isn’t an easy thing to do. This interview with Tree was a real pleasure, as can be seen by the fact that we went almost four hours! Hey everybody! Episode 44 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Roman Hanis. I have known about Roman since I arrived in the Amazonian jungles of Peru. And having worked in this field for the past decade, I've come to hear about many centers and people working with these medicines. It's rare to only hear good things about a place, but that's just the case with the Paititi Institute, which Roman founded. In this interview, Roman and I discussed myriad topics from his background and work, to ancient traditions, sacred plants medicines, learning, and healing. Roman has a beautiful way of expressing himself and putting, often esoteric or abstract ideas, into very understandable dialogue. Hey everybody! Episode 40 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Beth Weinstein. Beth has been working with plant medicines for a number of years and has been focusing on how to integrate what she and her clients have learned to create a path forward in life. She focuses on what she calls spiritual business and entrepreneurship. This is a really important topic as I find many people who I work with come to plant medicines out of a desire to find what they are truly called to do in life with their work. She is also the founder and host of the “Psychedelics, Sacred Medicines, Purpose and Business” summit, where she interviews some amazing guests.
