What Do I Say to Jehovah’s Witnesses?
What should we say to Jehovah's Witnesses that come to our door, to those we meet at work, or to those who hand out Watchtower literature to us at the airport? Why is prayer and relying upon the Lord so important in this process? Join us today as I visit with Brian Pope. One of the ways he has witnessed to Jehovah's Witnesses is by asking, "Can I share my favorite Bible verse with you?" He'll then read and discuss 1 John 5:13 with them that says, "These things are written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you know that you have eternal life." We'll also learn some of his favorite talking points that include discussing the New Covenant, Jesus as our only mediator, why there is only one hope, and the Gospel. He always strives to build a positive relationship with them. He's the author of a new book entitled, What Do I Say to a Jehovah's Witness?

Easter Special
Lent is the time to remember the suffering Jesus endured to pay for our sins. In John 19:30 Jesus said, "It is finished." Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. After Jesus died soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men who were crucified with Him, but coming to Jesus, when they saw He was already dead, they did not break his legs. For these things came to pass that the scripture might be fulfilled - not a bone of Him shall be broken. Then Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus but a secret one for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate granted permission. And they bound his body with linen wrappings with the spices as is the burial custom of the Jews.
Jesus rose from the dead and remained on Earth after His resurrection for 40 days according to Acts 1:3. During this time He appeared and spoke to many people including his disciples, the women, and once to 500 people at once. Join us today for the Family Shield Easter Special. My guest is Reverend Doug Griebenaw, the Mission Advocate for KFUO and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Reaching Jews for Christ
How does Jews for Jesus, a Messianic, international, nonprofit organization reach Jews with the saving Gospel message? How do Jews for Jesus missionaries get acquainted with Jewish people and build positive trusting relationships? And why did the Apostle Paul say in Romans 10:1 "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved." Join us today as I interview David Brickner, Executive Director of Jews for Jesus. David has served with Jews for Jesus for over 40 years. He led branch offices in Chicago and New York, served as a missionary at-large, director of recruitment and missionary training before becoming the executive director. He has also written several books. He currently lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter.

The Last Words of Christ from the Cross
Jesus said ”I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and Believes In Me shall never die.” Do you believe this? You know we spend a lot of time during Lent learning about the suffering and death of Jesus for our sins, but do we know as much about the words of Christ on the cross? That's our topic today on our Family Shield Easter special. My guest is Rev. John Cain, pastor of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Houston, TX, and co-host of Evangelical Life Ministries radio program.

Recovering from Spiritual Abuse
Spiritual abuse has a devastating effect on people. Since a very high level of trust is often placed in spiritual leaders, it is expected that the trust will be honored and guarded. When trust is violated the wound is very deep. Sometimes the wound is so deep that the wounded person cannot trust even a legitimate spiritual authority again. Besides an unhealthy fear of and disillusionment with spiritual authorities, the spiritually abused person may find it difficult to even trust God. They may think, "How could He let this happen to me?"
It is hoped that those who have been subjected to spiritual abuse will find this program a helpful tool in their journey to recovery from their spiritual wounds and find healing in their relationship with the Lord. Today I'll interview David Henke. He is a Christian apologist that specializes in issues of mind-control, spiritual abuse, and legalism. Besides being the author of The Spiritual Abuse Recovery Workbook, he is also the founder of Watchman Fellowship Inc.

The Well-being of Pastors and Church Workers
Saint Paul writes a letter to the Romans recorded as the book of Romans in the Bible, Chapter 1, that at long last he desires to come and visit with the Christians in Rome and he writes, “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you. That is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.” Well not only does God call people by the gospel and enlighten them with gifts, sanctifies or sets them apart as a very special ambassador in this world, but He also gathers Christians together in His church to be His church. Being the church together for one another is important for building one another up, but who builds up our pastors? Who cares for those who serve the congregation professionally? How do pastors, teachers, deaconesses, youth workers, church musicians stay healthy and not burn out? These questions are some of the questions that we want to consider today as we talk about the well-being of pastors and church workers. Hi, this is Mark Frith, Chairman of the Family Shield Ministries board, and today’s guest host of the Family Shield radio and podcast. Thank you for being a part of the Family Shield family. You are a blessing to us. Our guest for today’s program is the Rev. Dr. Darrell Zimmerman. For the last several years, he has served as the Executive Director of Grace Place Wellness Ministries, whose mission has been to nurture vitality and joy in the ministry, by inspiring and equipping church workers to lead healthy lives.

The Story of a Single Teenage Mom and Her Son
Join us today on Family Shield as I visit with Vicar Chris Hill. His teenage mother became pregnant with him. She could have released him for adoption but instead, because she already loved him even in the womb, she raised him to know and love Jesus. His mother continued to live out her faith and attended church with her parents. She didn't marry his father when she became pregnant. But his father stayed involved in his son's life. Six years later Chris's mom and dad got married - praise the Lord! Today Chris is married and a student at Concordia Seminary in St Louis Missouri studying to become a pastor in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He is currently serving as a vicar at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Illinois. Today we’ll learn more about his story and his plans for the future.
