Grégory Escande: Studio in the Street

Grégory Escande is a photographer based in Mozambique. Grég is a teacher who’s lived in Africa for 20 years and he’s created a unique style of photography which he describes as ’studio in the street’. Grég’s photography captures the strength and vibrancy of the people of Maputo, the sheer joy of childhood in his shots of kids playing as well as touching on the the hard realities of life in what is widely considered one of the poorest countries in the world. When I first saw Grég’s work I reached out to him immediately and I found Greg to be a really interesting guy who puts a lot of thought to his photography. Show NotesSupport Gregory at the following links: Greg’s Instagram - www.instagram.com/photo_in_mozConnect with me at the View Finders web page where you can get my free long exposure tutorial video:www.view-finders.co.uk   Also at:www.instagram.com/viewfinderspodcast www.youtube.com/5minutephotography www.facebook.com/grahamdargiephotography www.grahamdargie.com Tickets for the next View Finders Live Online Event:https://www.grahamdargie.com/events Additional show links:Double Exposure:My choice - Boy in the sand - https://www.instagram.com/p/B-T_iusFSGD/ Greg’s choice - kids by the roadside - https://www.shibuiandco.com/shibui-paper-planes/2019/8/31/gregoryescande-photographer Equipment:Nikon D850 - https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/dslr-cameras/d850.htmlSigma Art Lenses - https://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/art Nikon 85mm f/1.8 lens - https://www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/product/nikkor-lenses/auto-focus-lenses/fx/single-focal-length/af-s-nikkor-85mm-f-1-8g Tamron 70-200mm lens - https://www.tamron.eu/lenses/sp-70-200mm-f28-di-vc-usd-g2/Godox AD300 - http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Outdoor_Flash_AD300Pro.html Godox Softboxes - http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Studio_Accessories_Softbox.html Photographers:Diane Arbus - https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/diane-arbus-5271 Nan Goldin - https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/nan-goldin-2649 Cindy Sharman - https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/cindy-sherman-1938 Ali Jeb - https://www.instagram.com/alijeb23/ Musician:Hugh Masekela - https://youtu.be/qxXZF60EPdM Book:Les Misrables by Victor Hugo - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Miserables-Leather-bound-Classics-Victor-Hugo/dp/1626864640/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2X5AH8BNBXI60&dchild=1&keywords=les+miserables+book&qid=1614678015&sprefix=les+mis%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-1 Waiting for Godot by Samuel Becket - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waiting-Godot-Tragicomedy-Two-Acts/dp/0571229115/ref=sr_1_1?crid=15SUJO0CS3PS2&dchild=1&keywords=waiting+for+godot+book&qid=1614678038&sprefix=waiting+for+Godot%2Caps%2C172&sr=8-1
