The New York Times reported: "Trump said to have revealed nuclear submarine secrets to Australian businessman." Defendant Trump is on pretrial release in four felony cases: two state and two federal. If the law was applied as intended, Trump would be in a jail cell, detained pending trial. But he's not. Instead, he's ruminating about perhaps being the next Speaker of the House of Representative. Glenn Asks "What's wrong with this picture?" The answer - "Everything". Then, as the January 6th select House committee's report has found: Jim Jordan was "a significant player in Trump's efforts" to overturn the 2020 presidential election. A new piece by Sirius XM host Dean Obeidallah highlights some of the key findings of the Jan. 6th committee's report about Jordan's complicity in Trump's insurrection. Donald Trump endangers our national security in ways that can still shock and outrage us. ABC news broke the story that Trump divulged nuclear submarine capabilities to a foreign national while palling around at Mar-a-Lago. Glenn asks - will the criminal justice system ever step up, deploy the law as it is intended to be deployed, and detain Trump pending trial? Or will he continue to be allowed to endanger our national security with total impunity?3. Trump lawyers have filed a blizzard of motions in his criminal cases trying to get those cases dismissed. Glenn explains the reasons why those motions will be denied. 4. Things are progressing nicely in Trump's Georgia state RICO case, with one co-conspirator having already flipped and lots of plea offers being extended to other potential flippers. According to Glenn - this is bad news for Trump.5. Finally, Trump sat in for a few days of his civil business fraud trial in New York. He even threatened to testify in that case. Donald Trump's civil fraud trial in New York has begun, and he predictably started the day with dangerous rhetoric directed at the Judge and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Specifically, Trump said people should "go after the Attorney General." On a lighter note, one of Trump's attorney's, Christopher Kise (who was previously sanctioned by the judge for his conduct in the pretrial litigation in this case), said in his opening statement that there is no such thing as an "objective valuation" for property. Glenn says - perhaps not, but there is rampant, transparent and obvious fraud, as reflected in Trump's absurd and inconsistent valuations of his properties. Then Judge Arthur Engoron - in a long overdue development, FINALLY placed a limited restriction on Trump's speech and posts. He was angry after Trump posted a picture of his law clerk taken with Senator Chuck Schumer. Trump was mocking the picture claiming the law clerk was "Schumer's girlfriend" and insisting that his fraud case should therefore be dismissed. There have been recent developments in the Georgia RICO case against Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, John Eastman, Jeffrey Clark, Kenneth Chesebro, and others. In a dramatic development, one of Donald Trump's co-defendants, Scott Hall, has agreed to plead guilty and testify at the trials against the other co-defendants. Glenn says this spells real trouble for Trump and the other RICO defendants. In another development, a federal judge has denied the motions by Jeffrey Clark and several of the fake electors to try to transfer their cases from Georgia state court to federal court. And a third development involves Trump announcing that he won't even try to move his case to federal court. Donald Trump's lawyers have filed an opposition to Special Counsel Jack Smith's request that Judge Tanya Chutkan impose some limitations on Trump's speech, prohibiting him from threatening, intimidating or harassing the witnesses against him. The filing by Trump's lawyers reads like a combination of an extended tweet and a Trump campaign ad. Our criminal justice system is currently struggling. Donald Trump is on pretrial release in four felony prosecutions - two state cases and two federal cases. As a condition of his pretrial release, Trump has been ordered not to threaten the witnesses against him - yet, he has done just that. The Independent reports: "Trump suggests Mark Milley should be executed in possible breach of pre-trial release conditions." Glenn discusses the legal standard to detain a defendant pending trial. Donald Trump's former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, now adds to his troubles being sued for more than $1 million by his own lawyers for failure to pay his legal bills. This development is on top on Giuliani: being an indicted RICO defendant/co-conspirator in Georgia; being an un-indicted co-conspirator in the federal prosecution of Trump in Washington, DC; admitting to lying about and defaming Georgia state election workers Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman; having his law license suspended in New York; being recommended for disbarment in DC; etc. Glenn wonders if Rudy ever asks himself if he should've chosen another path, given that the choices he's made thus far have landed him precisely where he is at this moment. Then, new reporting on Trump shows his latest incriminating statement, as reported by NBC News: "Trump demands Republicans shut down government to 'defund' his criminal prosecutions." Glenn says there are several problems with Trump's recent hair-brained scheme: first, law informants, including prosecutions, are considered "essential governmental functions" and are exempt from federal government shutdowns. Second, Trump's statements may actually constitute an attempt to obstruct justice. Third, even if not technically a violation of federal obstruction of justice laws, his statements are powerful and admissible consciousness of guilt evidence. During Donald Trump's interview on Meet the Press, he told lie after lie after lie, continuing his attempts to poison all future jury pools. Several media organizations, then attempted to publish articles - fact checking and correcting Trump's stream of lies. On the upside, Trump said things that destroyed his potential "advice of counsel" defense, so some may say, let Trump keep taking as he continues to incriminate himself. But at this point, Trump has incriminated himself so many times, that there's no value in continuing to platform him. However, when he's given airtime, his jury pool poisoning lies continue to imperil the people's right to a fair trial. Glenn says it's time for Judge Chutkan to issue a gag order and it's also time for all responsible news organizations to stop platforming Trump's lies. Then, new reporting has revealed that Trump's long-time executive assistant, Molly Michael, provided the FBI and federal prosecutors sharply incriminating evidence against him. She said Trump often wrote "to-do" lists on classified documents and gave them to her. Perhaps even worse, when the federal government was attempting to retrieve the boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago, Trump told Ms. Michael, "You don't know anything about the boxes." He then asked Ms. Michael to falsely "Spread the word that there are no more boxes," even though she knew Trump was retaining dozens and dozens of boxes. Indeed, she even took pictures of the boxes at Mar-a-Lago and those photos ended up as exhibits in the federal indictment of Trump.
