Once Donald Trump announced that he intended to nominate Kash Patel as the Director of the FBI, the writing was on the wall for the current FBI head Chris Wray. The problem is, FIB Directors are appointed for 10-year terms to help provide some independence and separation between the FBI and the president and his administration.
