Shortly after his inauguration for his second term, Trump named Erik Siebert to be the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA). Siebert then spent months investigating New York Attorney General Leticia James and former FBI Director James Comey. Apparently finding no evidence supporting criminal charges, Siebert refused to indict those two Trump enemies.A furious Trump then erupted on social media demanding prosecutions of his enemies. Siebert resigned and Trump named an insurance lawyer and former beauty pageant contestant, Lindsay Halligan, as the new US Attorney for EDVA. And it now looks like Halligan may actually try to indict James Comey for allegedly lying to congress five years ago.The question is: Can Halligan find a federal prosecutor unethical enough to indict Comey, simply because Trump is demanding an indictment? In a social media post that's more befitting of Kim Jong Un, Trump directed Pam Bondi to prosecute his enemies "NOW!!!" Trump wrote: "Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, “same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done. . . We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!! After Disney and ABC felt the economic pressure and changed course, agreeing to put Jimmy Kimmel back on air, Sinclair and Nexstar stepped in and said they would not allow their ABC affiliate stations to air Kimmel's show.As the BBC reported, Nexstar and Sinclair, which together run dozens of stations affiliated to ABC, said they would continue to replace the (Kimmel) show with regular programming Tuesday. In a four-page court order that is one for the ages, Judge Steven Merryday "struck" for the record Donald Trump's complaint that he filed in his absurd $15 billion defamation suit against The New York Times.Judge Merryday, appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush. eviscerates Trump's legal filing, saying it does not comport with the Rules of Civil Procedure. The judge notes: "The reader must endure an allegation of 'the desperate need to defame with a partisan spear rather than report with an authentic looking glass' and an allegation that 'the false narrative about 'The Apprentice' was just the tip of Defendants' melting iceberg of falsehoods.' In an unsurprising abuse of presidential power, ABC News reported: "Trump officials pressuring prosecutors to bring criminal charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James". and "Trump himself has pressured the Department of Justice leadership to investigate James more aggressively (and two Trump officials) have pushed the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia to seek an indictment of James." This pressure to indict her is being applied, notwithstanding the fact that there is not "sufficient evidence supporting such charges". It's hard to believe some of the stories of deceit and corruption by Donald Trump and Pam Bondi's DOJ officials and attorneys are real. But as Politico just reported: "DOJ backs off claims about Guatemalan children it sought to deport".The case involves parents who were located in Guatemala but who had children in the United States. In a staggering display of lying to a court, a DOJ attorney named Drew Ensign told a judge that "all of the parents and guardians" in Guatemala wanted their children deported from the US back to Guatemala.It turns out that NONE of the parents and guardians of children said any such thing.
