After the Trump administration unlawfully deported Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to "facilitate" Garcia's release and return to the United States, and that order was affirmed by the Supreme Court. However, Trump's DOJ has been dragging its feet, claiming it can't bring Garcia back from El Salvador, and even defying a federal court order to provide the judge with information about the steps it has taken and will be taking to facilitate Garcia's return.Then, Donald Trump undercut his DOJ attorneys by saying he would bring Garcia back if ordered to do so by the Supreme Court. As CNN reported previously, "Trump calls for the termination of the Constitution in Truth Social post." Well, it looks like Trump is putting his money where his mouth is, as he seems to be trying to terminate the due process rights to which we are all entitled under the 5th Amendment. The Trump administration has deported a young man named Kilmer Arbrego Garcia, even though he's a legal US resident and was protected by a court order issued in 2019, in which a judge prohibited his deportation to El Salvador. Indeed, Garcia had fled the country because, according to court filings, "he left El Salvador to escape gang violence after gangsters threatened to kill him in an attempt to extort money from his parents." The Trump administration said his deportation was an "administrative error." But shockingly, they are now saying they have no way to get him back! The 5th Amendment to the Constitution provides, "No person shall . . . be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law". Donald Trump seems to spend his days golfing and signing unconstitutional executive orders. Two more federal court judges have halted executive orders Trump signed to punish law firms who displeased him for one reasons or another. And one of the Republican-appointed judges, Judge Richard Leon, had some choice words for the absurd arguments that were made in court by Trump's DOJ lawyers, saying: "Have you ever practiced law? Have you had clients? Then use your common sense". And then there were three. Two more big law firms have sued the Trump administration for issuing executive orders punishing firms that Donald Trump doesn't like for one reasons or another.
