Special Counsel Jack Smith was compelled by Department of Justice policy to dismiss the two criminal cases he brought against Donald Trump. Thereafter, Smith delivered his final Special Counsel report to the Attorney General. Accordingly, Smith's work as Special Counsel is complete. However, some people are asking if Smith's resignation from DOJ represents obeying an aspiring dictator in advance, or if his resignation was inevitable and has nothing to do with fear of retaliation by Trump and those he appoints to take over the DOJ. Mainstream media knows that Donald Trump helps them "sell soap powder." Because Trump's near-daily outrageous posts and statements guarantees maximum viewership, media seems intent on playing them on an endless loop, 24/7. January 6, 2025, could not have been more different than January 6, 2021. Recall that Special Counsel Jack Smith was required by Department of Justice policy to dismiss the classified documents case against Donald Trump because DOJ has a horrific policy that a criminal president cannot be prosecuted while in office. However, the Mara-a-Lago documents case continues against Trump's two co-defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos de Oliveira. The case presently is being appealed as a result of Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon dismissing the case contrary to existing precedent. Given that Jack Smith is stepping down as Special Counsel, he just transferred the classified documents case to federal prosecutors at the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida. As recently reported by NBC News: "Appeals court upholds $5 million E. Jean Carroll verdict against Trump." This is the first of the two cases to make it through the apples court. E.
