Episode 79: David O'Brien & Living In Your Body

"When you eat animal products, they don't get fully digested and you end up with impacted intestines. This prevents the absorption of nutrients to the blood stream, especially oxygen. When your bloodstream is deprived of oxygen, it creates a breeding ground for cancer. Cancer cells cannot survive in an oxygenated state. It all starts with the intestines."On this week's episode of the Eat Green Make Green Podcast I sit down with the man, the myth, the legend David O'Brien. For those that have followed the podcast for a while, you're likely familiar with Dave. This marks his third time on the podcast (Episodes 22 and 57) and each time I learn something new. If you're not familiar with Dave's journey from a beer drinking meatball sub eating roofer to a health pioneer, I highly recommend you listen to those previous episodes, it is incredibly inspiring. Dave is the founder of Dave's Raw Food and one of the foremost experts in human nutrition on the east coast. I polled my Instagram followers for questions they wanted me to ask Dave, and here's some of the main things what we talked about:Is everyone different? Does one thing that works for one person not work for another? Why after years of traveling the country learning from the leading experts in human nutrition did you end as a raw plant-based eater? Why are the intestines so important for your body to stay healthy? What's more important - giving up animal products or adding more whole plant foods into your diet? Will you be lacking anything on a plant-based diet? Specifically we talk B12. (I learned something new here!)Is fasting and intermittent fasting good for you?How does the energy in food and the energy from those who made it impact it's effect on us?Trust me, this is a MUST listen episode!Show NotesDave’s Raw Food Website: https://davesrawfood.com/Dave’s Raw Food Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/davesrawfoods/

Episode 77: Brian Sachetta & Overcoming Anxiety

“In situations, our brains hone in on those negative potential outcomes… we often forget that something good can actually happen.”On this week's episode of the Eat Green Make Green Podcast, I sit down with my old friend Brian Sachetta. Brian's claim to fame is that he was the original designer of the super successful dating app, Hint (for those that know my background, I'm obviously joking haha!). Hint was my first ever venture, and after working with Brian on it, we've stayed in contact and shared similar entrepreneurial and health journeys. What I didn't know about Brian is that he's battled anxiety over the years, something so many of us can relate to. In order to overcome it and skip the all too often prescribed drugs, he's developed a number of practical tactics that can be applied by anyone. Brian's life experience with anxiety, the latest research on anxiety, and steps to overcome it are all covered in his new book Get Out Of Your Head: A toolkit for living with and overcoming anxiety, which is now available on Amazon. This is an awesome conversation about a topic that we all should talk more openly about. We all experience anxiety of some kind and Brian's experiences and techniques most definitely will have a positive impact on many.Show NotesBrian’s Book - Getting Out of Your Head: https://www.amazon.com/Get-Out-Your-Head-Overcoming-ebook/dp/B07L5Z6V75Brian’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bsachetta/
