70: Training Considerations
We open up today's episode talking about #TEAMMIHALY Athlete Anna Kate, AKA AK-47's overall win in St. Louis this weekend. Then we dive into today's topic of training considerations. We touch on five key points to consider for your training session. 1 - Why absolute effort trumps all. 2 - Focus on the core lifts. Become an expert with a barbell and keep machines secondary. 3 - Vary your rep ranges based on your lifts for optimal performance. 4 - Focus on total poundage moved and not total reps. Volume is not the answer here. 5 - Focus on your setup and mechanical positioning. We cannot break form and expect the target muscle to grow and recovery optimally.
