The Hawks had a 1-0 lead going into the 3rd period, but then gave up 4 unanswered goals to New Yersey. Drew Commesso made one of the best saves of the year on Erik Haula in the 2nd period, but then allowed 4 goals in the 3rd period. The Blackhawks scored the first goal of the game for the 19th time this season, but could not find a way to add on, hitting posts and crossbars several times in this one. Jason Dickinson was the lone goal scorer for Chicago, his 6th lamp lighter of the season. Frank Nazar finished with 1 shot on goal. Connor Bedard had 2 shots on goal and 2 giveaways.

The Chicago Blackhawks grabbed an early 1-0 lead thanks to an incredible goal by Connor Bedard, but they allowed 2 goals in the 2nd period, and 3 goals in the 3rd period, falling to the New York Islanders 5-4.
