Healing through Heritage: Ancestral Diets Unveiled with Phil Escott

In episode 49 of The Road to Wisdom Podcast Chloe & Keshia have a light hearted conversation and good laugh with Phil Escott as we delve into the intricate web of human health and nutrition. Phil is a Health/lifestyle consultant, nine-year carnivore and drummer Phil Escott got chronically ill as a vegetarian, and his body revolted with psoriatic arthritis and other autoimmune conditions in 2010, leaving him unable to move without severe pain, let alone drum or exercise, and he had to throw out all his existing “expertise” and start from scratch. Phil’s eventual combination of a carnivore diet with EMF and artificial light avoidance, cold thermogenesis and a range of other health enhancing practices reversed the “incurable” diseases that he suffered from. His book “Arthritis, The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me” gained a foreword by Dr. Jack Kruse and has become an Amazon Kindle bestseller and is now available in print. Phil talks from personal experience about contemporary lifestyle and diet choices, disconnects from our ancestral heritage, emotional balancing and the simple but often misunderstood nature of spiritual awakening. He now consults with clients worldwide helping them to reverse their metabolic and autoimmune issues and runs The Big Fat Challenge with Ben Hunt as his main project. In this chat Phil uncovers the hidden dangers lurking in seed oils and vegetable oils, shedding light on their detrimental effects on our well-being. Drawing from his own journey, Phil shares how autoimmune disease and metabolic dysfunction can wreak havoc on our bodies, and explores the pivotal role the carnivore diet played in his healing process. We take a deep dive into the introduction of seed oils and their insidious impact on human health, touching upon the concept of deuterium and its significance in maintaining optimal health. Phil underscores the toxicity of certain plants and advocates for a return to ancestral diets as a key to unlocking vibrant health. We chat on various dietary landscapes, from the allure of veganism's honeymoon phase to the nuanced use of plants as medicinal agents. Phil addresses concerns surrounding raw dairy and delves into the considerations of adopting a carnivore diet during pregnancy, as well as its potential effects on children's health. Phil shares insights into resilience and the gradual reintroduction of foods, framing the carnivore diet as the ultimate elimination diet. He champions the merits of a meat-based diet while offering personalized dietary recommendations tailored to specific health conditions like arthritis. Throughout our discussion, Phil emphasizes the importance of maintaining an open mind and fostering unity amidst differing dietary philosophies. Whether you're seeking further resources or support, Phil provides invaluable guidance to navigate your health journey with confidence.
