How Not To Get Pregnant; Fertility Awareness Method With Sarah Honey

In episode 67 of The Road to Wisdom Podcast Chloe & Keshia speak to Sarah Honey, Sarah has a Bachelor in Nutrition and Human Health Sciences and is a certified Fertility Awareness Practitioner from the FEMM Institute. Sarah has been educating and training in this field and we love how she shares this golden information with women. The goal of this chat was to explore the theme of NOT getting pregnant again. We discuss fertility awareness methods and the different phases of the menstrual cycle. We explore the infradian cycle, which governs the hormonal reproductive cycle in women, including ovulation and menstruation. Sarah explains the four phases of the cycle: follicular, ovulatory, luteal, and menstrual. We also discuss the signs and symptoms to look out for in each phase, such as changes in energy levels, cervical mucus, cervical placement, and libido. We touch on the challenges of tracking the cycle postpartum and provide recommendations for using biomarkers for fertility informed love making. In this conversation we also explore the effects of breastfeeding on ovulation and the importance of tracking cycles to understand hormonal shifts. Continuing with the loss of sexual desire postpartum and ways to reconnect with one's sexuality. Australia’s Mary Poppins; Setting up For Postpartum Success With Addison Landry

We can personally vouch for this wonderful human as she generously cooked for both of us before the arrival of our fifth babies. In this episode Addison shares her story of how she became so passionate about supporting women and truly nurturing them through postpartum. We touch on the need for comprehensive postpartum care that includes physical, emotional, and nutritional support. We also discuss the lack of postpartum traditions and support in Western culture and the importance of setting up a support system during the postpartum period. Addison highlights the significance of nutrient-dense foods and the incorporation of organ meats, fermented foods, and whole foods in postpartum nutrition. Addison shares her approach to postpartum care, which includes cooking nutritious meals for families and providing bodywork sessions. They also discuss the process of finding a postpartum doula and the different services they offer.
