#131 - Will and Paul of From A Second Story Window
Starting in 1999, From a Second Story Window lived in a whirlwind of nonstop touring and putting out music independently for five years before catching the attention of Black Market Activities. The group signed with the label and would continue their nonstop hustle of hitting the road 10-11 months out of the year. Eventually, FASSW would release an EP followed by their 2006 debut full-length record, Delenda, all while maintaining moving at a breakneck speed... so much so that the band would quietly disbanded months before their sophomore album Conversations was to drop. In this episode, we discuss what led to that and what regrets the band may have about handling that situation. But don't worry, we also discuss the band's new music and future.Video version: http://www.lambgoat.com/podcast/FOR MORE ON FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW:https://www.instagram.com/fromasecondstorywindowhttps://www.facebook.com/fromasecondstorywindowhttps://linktr.ee/fasswFOLLOW LURK:https://www.instagram.com/lurkcity/https://www.twitter.com/lurkcity/https://www.iamlurk.com/FOLLOW LAMBGOAT:https://www.instagram.com/lambgoat/https://www.twitter.com/lambgoat/https://www.facebook.com/lambgoatmusic/https://www.lambgoat.comSubscribe / Stream "The Vanflip Podcast" on:iTunes/Apple: http://bit.ly/iTunesVFPodcastSpotify: http://bit.ly/SpotifyVFPodcastStitcher Radio: http://bit.ly/StitcherVFPodcastTuneIn: http://bit.ly/TuneinVFPodcastGoogle Play Music: http://bit.ly/GPMVFPodcastRSS Feed: http://bit.ly/RssVFPodcast Learn more about your ad choices. #130 - Chris & Andrew of Skycamefalling
Skycamefalling isn't one of the biggest names in metalcore, but for a handful of years, they were part of the genre's first wave. Following the footsteps of Deadguy and others, Skycamefalling spent most of their active years pounding highway pavement touring 9-10 months out of the year, before crucial touring tools like GPS and MySpace. The band only released one full-length, 10.21, in their time with Ferret Records before calling it a day in 2003. Now the band is active again having played the Poison The Well YCBY 20-year NYC shows and now announced for Furnace Fest 2024. We catch up with the band to see what else is in their future. #129 - Gabe & Travis of Enterprise Earth
Enterprise Earth is one of those bands that currently does not have any original members remaining in its lineup. Both guitarist Gabe Mangold and vocalist Travis Worland came into the band after the band had been established for a few years. Gabe took over for what seemed like a rotating cast of guitarists but since then has become the main songwriter and longest guitar player in the group, while Travis started out by filling in for vocalist Dan Watson on live shows before permanently taking over in 2022. Now on the heels of releasing the group's fifth studio full-length, Death: An Anthology, we catch up with Gabe and Travis as they try to locate their missing bass from a German hotel before their European tour starts.Video version: http://www.lambgoat.com/podcast/FOR MORE ON ENTERPRISE EARTH:https://www.instagram.com/enterpriseearth/https://twitter.com/EEarthBandhttps://www.facebook.com/enterpriseearthbandhttps://enterpriseearthband.com/FOLLOW LURK:https://www.instagram.com/lurkcity/https://www.twitter.com/lurkcity/https://www.iamlurk.com/FOLLOW LAMBGOAT:https://www.instagram.com/lambgoat/https://www.twitter.com/lambgoat/https://www.facebook.com/lambgoatmusic/https://www.lambgoat.comSubscribe / Stream "The Vanflip Podcast" on:iTunes/Apple: http://bit.ly/iTunesVFPodcastSpotify: http://bit.ly/SpotifyVFPodcastStitcher Radio: http://bit.ly/StitcherVFPodcastTuneIn: http://bit.ly/TuneinVFPodcastGoogle Play Music: http://bit.ly/GPMVFPodcastRSS Feed: http://bit.ly/RssVFPodcast Learn more about your ad choices. #127 - Skyler Conder of Cell
Oklahoma's Cell is fairly new to the hardcore/metalcore world, having started as a side project shortly after the Covid pandemic. Though it wasn't the member's main project at the time, with early success online and multiple tours with bigger acts over time Cell has come to the front. Skyler Conder, who is in his mid-20s, is the vocalist for the heavy hardcore/metalcore band that is currently in the cycle of releasing their 2nd EP, The Unbearable Form, due out February 9th through Unbeaten Records.Video version: http://www.lambgoat.com/podcast/FOR MORE ON CELL:https://www.instagram.com/cellmetal_/https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083424366461https://cellmetal.bandcamp.com/FOLLOW LURK:https://www.instagram.com/lurkcity/https://www.twitter.com/lurkcity/https://www.iamlurk.com/FOLLOW LAMBGOAT:https://www.instagram.com/lambgoat/https://www.twitter.com/lambgoat/https://www.facebook.com/lambgoatmusic/https://www.lambgoat.comSubscribe / Stream "The Vanflip Podcast" on:iTunes/Apple: http://bit.ly/iTunesVFPodcastSpotify: http://bit.ly/SpotifyVFPodcastStitcher Radio: http://bit.ly/StitcherVFPodcastTuneIn: http://bit.ly/TuneinVFPodcastGoogle Play Music: http://bit.ly/GPMVFPodcastRSS Feed: http://bit.ly/RssVFPodcast Learn more about your ad choices. In the beginning, Andrew Neufeld was one of the band's guitarist/backing vocalists and eventually, he would take over lead vocals when frontman Scott Wade exited the band in 2006. Neufeld's recording debut would be on the band's third studio album, Broadcasting... (2007). #125 - Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw/Head Automatica
Daryl Palumbo is the lead vocalist for Glassjaw and Head Automatica. Glassjaw has been a post-hardcore force of nature for the last three decades, influencing nearly every band you probably listen to. Found in 1993 by Palumbo and long-time guitarist Justin Beck, the band signed to Roadrunner Records and released their debut LP, then made the unfortunate leap to a major label when they signed with Warner Bros for their sophomore release 'Worship & Tribute'. After the long fallout with WB, the band has gone DIY/independent. Palumbo also fronts Head Automatica..... honestly, I could write essays on GJ/Palumbo. GJ has been my favorite band since the early 2000s and I finally was able to sit down with the cult leader himself. Notice me senpai.
