Ep 49 - Interview with Ryan Young - Camp Veritas

In this episode, James is joined by Ryan Young, founder of Camp Veritas, a Catholic Summer Camp for teens 12-18. Ryan is a man who has lived many lives, as he puts it. From briefly meeting his future spouse at a college meet-and-greet and knowing he was going to marry her to working as a Physician's Assistant in New York, Ryan is a doer. Husband and father to 8-children, Ryan's life is so busy he had to cut the interview short due to a little one needing stitches!During their discussion, Ryan and James speak about the four greatest challenges men face in this day and age, the biggest threats to boys becoming men, and how God rewards the proactive. Ryan is a man who believes there are no accidents and it is evident by the way he speaks about his faith and the Church. “There is nothing more delusional in the universe to think your opinion actually matters.” Ryan YoungLike what you heard? Ep 48 - Levels of Prayer - Part 2

Part 2 has arrived! No Avicii references this time around...I promise. In this episode, James and Ryan continue their discussion and dive into the various levels of prayer, including touching on some mystical levels we don't really know a heck of a lot about. We can dare to become like one of these mystics and enter the inner depths of the soul to reach these levels of mastery in prayer. Here is how you do Mental Prayer:Prepare: Place yourself in God's presence and pray for the grace to meditateBegin the meditationReflect on particular subject, some truth of God or the Faith (more on this later)Examine yourself in relation to this truthThink of how you can improve in this aspectAffections like sorrow for sin, hope in God, and love arise in your heart from considering the subject of your meditationOffer petitions in your heart to God: for people in your life, for yourself, your family, your enemies, for the Church, and so onResolve to conquer your main vice or grow in a needed virtueConclusion: Thank God for the graces He gave youRyan's Challenge: Evaluate your current level, and level up to the next one. Click on resource 1 or 2 below to read more bout the levels and decide where you are at currently in your prayer life. Like what you heard? Maybe you just enjoy reading James’s show notes? Ep 43 - Interview with Jesse Romero, A Punch in the Gut

Ohhhhh boy! You have been waiting for the day and here it is! Father Dom and James had the privilege and honor of interviewing the one and only Jesse Romero on the podcast and boy, did he not disappoint! For those of you who don't know Jesse, I am just going to drop a quote from his website: “If your parish suffers from low energy, call me, I can jump start it. I’m a full Gospel, Bible Believing, Born Again, Spirit Filled, Evangelical, Orthodox Catholic Christian, washed and empowered by the blood of Jesus.  With a Bible in one hand, with a rosary in my other hand and with Jesus in my heart, you will hear the fullness of the Catholic faith in an evangelical style with devil destroying theology.”To say Jesse is energetic and passionate is an understatement. He brought the fire and hammer down during the podcast and you will not want to miss it. Ep 42 - Interview with Ryan Flaherty - Part 3

Whoa....an episode on Friday? You bet! Something special is coming next week. In this episode, James wraps up his discussion with Ryan Flaherty, a local from Ada, MI who attends St. Robert's of Newminster parish. Ryan is a husband and father of two and is passionate about all things spiritual warfare. He is basically a spokesperson for Fr. Chad Ripperger (we are also guilty as charged) and wants to help men yell with a battle-ax in one hand and the Rosary in the other hand. Or, give a good battle cry. Either one will work.Continue to listen to this finale episode (and extra special since it's on Friday) as James and Ryan discuss practical tips on how to prepare yourself to fight in the most epic and important fight we will ever enter into.  Like what you hear?
