12. Pope Francis poses in a puffer jacket - the impacts of AI generated images
We knew it would happen eventually...the AI image meme wave is upon us! Most notably this week, Pope Francis took over everyone's timeline, donning his white Balenciaga inspired puffer jackets, DJing in a night club, riding motorcycles, and generally taking on the world.
Did Pope Francis suddenly challenge Tom Cruise for his action hero title? Nope! All of these images are fake...and really good.
We have now hit a critical crossroads where AI is capable of generating very realistic imagery which will have massive impacts on our news and information cycles.
How will AI images impact education? What opportunities exist for learning and what guard rails might we need to build as we think about our hard lessons from the expansion of social media?
Plus, I talk privacy in corporations and countries - Italy banned chatGPT!
