We interview Jamie from Stocks & Savings!

► Episode Notes: With Steve W away in Cornwall this week, we're taking a break from the usual earnings roundups and the Bank of England's latest interest rate increases. Instead, we've got something a little bit different. We sat down to chat with Jamie from Stocks and Savings about some unfamiliar topics -- investing, personal finance, and cricket! As a former equity research analyst and a current chartered accountant, Jamie has a lot to bring to the table. Find out why Jamie decided to go full time on Stocks and Savings, why he and his partner Andreea prefer Instagram over YouTube, and which stock is on his investing radar right now. Our chat involves some familiar themes: investing, cricket, and food delivery boxes! Honestly, Jamie fitted in so well and we had such a great time chatting with him. If his name was Steve, we'd probably have asked him to stay! Please enjoy this week's PlayingFTSE Show! ► Support the show: Appreciate the show and want to offer your support? Google & Meta Report + Investing in the NHS & Harry Potter!?

► Episode Notes: This week, our show is a pretty straightforward one. We’re looking at earnings from the big digital advertising players in the US and answering some questions from our viewers about UK stocks. But first, we’re having a list of our wins and losses from the last few weeks. Highlights include the FED’s interest rate decision, the fourth Ashes Test, and Forterra’s dividend announcement. After that, it’s on to Alphabet, which put up some earnings numbers that the market liked. But what do the Steves make of the decision to add to Ruth Porat’s already busy schedule? Then it’s the obvious successor – Meta Platforms. The worst appears to be well and truly behind this stock after another good report, but Steve W thinks there’s an elephant in the room. One of our viewers asked whether we’re buying BMY any more (after a range of merchandise, you’d think we might). Well, Steve D is, but not in the way you might be thinking… Lastly, Steve W’s been looking at Primary Health Properties, after one of our viewers asked for our thoughts. The market doesn’t like this business, but what exactly is the problem? Only on this week’s PlayingFTSE Show! ► Support the show: Appreciate the show and want to offer your support? FTSE Jumps! Plus Netflix, ASML, Tesla & Lessons From Grandma

► Episode Notes: Who does Steve D look up to? Find out on this week’s PlayingFTSE Podcast! Steve and Steve are in this week to talk about UK inflation and US corporate earnings. But first, there are a couple of things to get out of the way. We’ve had some questions from HullInvestor, about who the Steves look up to and what they see as their best and worst investments have been. The answers might surprise you! After that, it’s on to the UK macro situation. Falling inflation and a weakening pound has been pushing share prices up, so why is Steve W concerned? Then it’s on to ASML, which is down after its earnings this week. Steve D thought they looked pretty go, though, so what’s bothering the market? Next, we’re looking at Tesla. With the earnings report reflecting weakness in the EV market and discounting prices, why does the stock keep going up? Lastly, we’re finishing with Netflix. Strong growth in users hasn’t been matched by an increase in revenues, so what is Steve D doing about it? 2 Overlooked UK Stocks & The BIG Banks Report!

► Episode Notes: What does Steve W do when he can’t sleep? Find out on this week’s PlayingFTSE Show! It’s the start of earnings season again, so Steve D and Steve W are here to talk about it. On our show today, we’ve got two UK stocks and four US financials. First up, it’s DS Smith – the FTSE 100’s premier box-making organisation. With a P/E of 8 and a dividend yield above 7, is this a boring box maker, or a cutting-edge packaging outfit? Next, it’s Spirax-Sarco. The conglomerate has some impressive credentials for an industrials stock, but is there enough growth still there to support the big price tag? And we’re finishing off with a look at some of the earnings from the US banks. JP Morgan’s shareholders will be pleased, but what about Wells Fargo, Citigroup, and Blackrock? WISE, Dividend Investing & A Huge AI Push

► Episode Notes: Which number is bigger: 7 or 4? Find out on this week’s PlayingFTSE Show! Steve D and Steve W are in this week to talk about the Ashes, the whereabouts of Paul, and the stock market this week. Why has the FTSE 100 been going down every day this week? We’re starting with a question for Paul (who we thought might be here) With dividends yielding 4% and bank accounts returning 7%, why is anyone a dividend investor right now? Then it’s on to a stock that both Steves quite like –Wise (formerly Transferwise). They’ve got a clever mechanism for moving money across borders and they’re winning as interest rates go up, so is it a buy? After that, it’s on to US news. Goldman Sachs has been having a horrible time with its Apple credit card deal, so why does American Express suddenly have an interest in this? Steve W has an idea… And lastly, we’re looking at Accenture – a stock we’ve not talked about on the show before. Steve W thinks it’s a great stock and Steve D has the info from the latest earnings. Reviewing Our Portfolios, Predictions, Winners & Losers

► Episode Notes: Which obvious joke has Steve W been making this week? Find out on this week’s Playing FTSE Show! We’re at the halfway point for the year and Steve and Steve are in to talk about how things have been going. Stand by for our winners and losers, UK winners and losers and some prediction updates. First up, it’s portfolio review time. Steve D’s been on operation slim down and Steve W’s been banking on banks – how are they going in an environment where the winning trend has been big tech? After that, it’s on to the UK. Rolls-Royce is leading the FTSE 100 and Aston Martin Lagonda the 250, but with materials stocks bringing up the rear, are there opportunities to be had? And we’re rounding things off this week with a look back at our predictions from the start of the year. Steve D probably has the best and the worst of them, but how has Paul been faring? Taxman Hunting YOUR ISA Whilst Savings & Mortgages Rocket!?

► Episode Notes: Who’s had a birthday this week? Find out in this week’s PlayingFTSE Show! It’s a very UK-centric episode this week, with Steve and Steve ready to talk about the latest news around interest rates. There’s good news for savers, bad news for debtors, and confusing news for ISA investors. With interest rates up to 5%, there are some nice opportunities to earn a return on cash, either in an instant acces account or in a fixed bond. Steve W’s been looking in all the usual places, but which Brexiteering bank has Steve D seen? The news for people with big mortgages is bad, though. The average rate on a 2-year fixed mortgage is 6% and Steve W has some ideas on whether investors should stick or twist for their next move. The big stock news from this week concerns Ocado. With rumours of US tech giant Amazon looking interested, the stock is up 30% this week, but do the Steves think there’s any reason to buy the unprofitable robotics outfit? Lastly, when is a share not a share? When it’s a derivative – and that’s bad news for anyone wanting to hold fractional shares in an ISA. But this is surely just a technicality, right? I mean, there’s nothing to see here, is there? Only on this week’s PlayingFTSE Podcast! ► Support the show: Appreciate the show and want to offer your support? Vodafone & 3 To Merge, AI, Adobe and UK Fintechs Up To No Good

► Episode Notes: The indices are up this week, but whose portfolio is down? Find out on this week’s PlayingFTSE Podcast! Paul, Steve, and Steve are in the house for this week’s show. But blink and you might miss them, because Paul is a busy fella these days! Steve and Steve are starting off with the latest from Vodafone. The FTSE 100 laggard has agreed to merge its UK operations with Three, which has Steve W thinking about whether the stock should be on his watch list. Next it’s Adobe – the US tech giant released earnings this week and it’s just quietly doing its thing. As the company moves forward, innovates, and grows, does it have a place in Steve D’s portfolio? Sticking with tech, it’s on to AI. Goldman Sachs insist there’s no bubble here, but Steve has other ideas… but he also has a stock that might be worth a look for investors wanting to profit from the rise of the machines. And we’re finishing with the UK fintech space. Revolut, Freetrade, and Trading212 all have news to share, but is there anything positive for any of them? 3 New Stocks For June + Diageo and a FTSE 100 retailer!

► Episode Notes: Who’s mowing their lawn at 9:30 on a Saturday morning?! Find out on this week’s PlayingFTSE Show! With no Paul for the 9,000,000th time, Steve D and Steve W are talking about lawnmowers, consumer products, and stocks for Paul. First of all, an actual research company has done some research and discovered that consumers buy things… in shops! Not the most scintillating insight, but Steve W has been thinking about what it might mean for FTSE 100 retailer Tesco? After that, it’s on to Diageo – a top UK consumer products company with shares trading at a 52-week low. Steve and Steve have thought the stock was expensive before, but is it any closer to being a buy yet for either of them? The rest of the show is about stocks we’d like to get Paul’s view on. Steve D has a US homebuilder that’s expanding by acquisition and becoming a real manufacturing force, but with no dividend is it even a starter for Paul? Steve W is looking at a big copper miner – Glencore. With all the hype around AI, he thinks investor attention has gone away from the drive to renewables and sees an opportunity, but can the company steer clear of shady dealings? Salesforce, Broadcom & A Whole Load of SAAS!

► Episode Notes: Which stock has Paul sold lately? Find out on this week’s PlayingFTSE Podcast! This week, Paul, Steve, and Steve are looking at the ins and outs from the FTSE 100 and the latest from the world of big tech. It’s been an exciting week and they’re set to get started. First up is UK news. The FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 were recalibrated earlier this week, but which REIT is going down a tier and did Ocado manage to survive relegation? Next it’s Broadcom, a stock that’s been riding high on an AI wave. Paul has the details, Steve D sees a glass half full and Steve W sees nothing but risks – what do you think you see? Then it’s onto Salesforce, a business that’s just turning the corner to profitability. A recession would seem like a bad thing, but Steve W thinks it might actually help this company. After that, it’s Guidewire, where the analysts all raised their price targets and the stock went down. With no GAAP earnings, what’s it doing share buybacks with..!? And we finish with a run through some of the smaller stories from the tech world.
