On today’s Bitcoin Magazine Podcast, Christian Keroles sits down with the infamous Bitcoin Twitter personality and troll Udi Wertheimer to discuss why hard core Bitcoin faithful should not be so worried about Alternative Cryptocurrencies. Generally speaking Bitcoiners are very adversarial towards Altcoins and altcoiners. It is not unheard of to see Bitcoiner’s loudly decrying Altcoins as all scams and altcoin investors as foolish.  Both Udi and Christian don't believe that Altcoins are a challenge to Bitcoin and that they can even be helpful for new people that are not quite primed to understand Bitcoin initially. Bitcoin is quite unintuitive to people still operating on a fiat mindset. Udi also challenges Bitcoiner’s by claiming they lose credibility when they continue to pretend that some altcoins like Doge and Ethereum have not outperformed Bitcoin substantially in 2021.  Udi thinks that toxicity was much more necessary back in 2015-2017 during the Bitcoin fork wars. He now believes that Bitcoiner’s can be much more empathetic and successful at converting new and precoiners to Bitcoin with a less toxic strategy. From there, the Bitcoin Beach community leaders tell how the country of El Salvador adopted the new law to make bitcoin legal tender, and how they received the new law in El Zonte. They also discuss what they think the rest of the country thinks of the new law. Finally, Jorge and Roman speculate about what the Bitcoin law could mean for El Zonte and El Salvador moving forward, and how bitcoiners from all around the world can help make the initiative a success.

On this bonus episode of the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast, Christian Keroles sits down with Greg King, the CEO and Founder of Osprey Funds. Osprey is focused on bringing cutting edge technology exposure to everyday investors through their crypto trust products. Their first product OBTC is designed to compete with Greyscales GBTC as Osprey and many other race for SEC approval for a real Bitcoin ETF. King believes that a Bitcoin ETF will be approved eventually by the SEC but he does see several head winds that could continue to prolong a final approval from the SEC. Many BTC ETF bulls have speculated that new SEC commissioner Gary Gensler, who has said positive and productive things about Bitcoin and crypto, would be a big boost for a Bitcoin ETF but King just does not think it will be enough for a quick and rapid approval this year. Despite the short term bearishness on an ETF, Greg and Osprey are very hopeful for a long term victory and greater retail access to Bitcoin exposure and sound money.

On this episode of the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast, Christian Keroles sits down with Lord Fusitu'a of Tonga. Lord Fusitu’a is Tongan royalty and a member of the Tongan government. Lord Fusitu'a is a die hard Bitcoiner and often spends time on Twitter spaces chatting with Bitcoin plebs from around the world. Fusitu’a tells the story of how Tonga relies heavily on remittances from Tongan’s living abroad and how much of those funds are lost to middle men and rent seekers. According to Lord Fusitu’a Bitcoin is already starting to take route in Tonga on a peer to peer level and Lord sees a viable path to implementing an El Salvador style bill to make Bitcoin legal tender in Tonga.  Fusitu’a has been working with both Jack Mallers and El Salvadorian official’s to take the best parts of that law and amend it to fit into Tonga’s legal framework. Fusitu’a believe that by embracing Bitcoin, Tonga can become more competitive and more wealthy compared to starts that are slower to the digital hard currency. Tonga people stand to benefit immediately just based on the remittances advantages that Bitcoin offers. Karim Helmy of Galaxy Digital comes on to the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast to discuss one of the most interesting and deep conversations in Bitcoin. Karim has a rich history studying the Bitcoin blockchain and is an expert in mining in particular. Host Christian Keroles has very strong views into what Bitcoin is and some of them are counter to what Karim believes. Rather than debating over Twitter Christian invited Karim to join and discuss what Bitcoin really is.  Christian takes the position that ultimately bitcoin is a network of geographically distributed and computers maintaining constant consensus. Karim takes the position that while that does exist, ultimately it is the people and agreement from people that defines what Bitcoin is. This is a very nuanced debate and is at the route of many other philosophical and design disagreements in the greater crypto space.  Bitcoiners’, what do you think?
