The Kingdom that Jesus inaugurates is unexpected as it goes against what the world perceives as normal. Jesus comes to upend what seems logical and correct as He speaks to His disciples about the values of His upside-down Kingdom. Andy is one of our pastors and leads our Lee site.

Phil spoke out of Luke 4 and Jesus’ Kingdom sermon at the synagogue when He reads from Isaiah 61. This is the proclamation and inauguration of the Kingdom of God coming in a new way, through Jesus Himself. This is the Kingdom in which the blind are healed, captives are freed, debts are paid, and people far from God can come home. Phil is our Senior Associate Pastor.

On Palm Sunday, Phil Varley, our Senior Associate Pastor, preached out of Mark 11 and Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. In particular he posed the question, ‘How could everything changes so quickly from what seems so positive on this day, to what develops over the next few days?’ As he focussed on what the crowds got right, and what they got wrong about Jesus, Phil encouraged us all to welcome, recognise and respond to Jesus fully throughout this coming Easter week.
