Repentance is not just concerned with taking away bad things, but with giving us good things. In the final section of Hosea, Andrew shows us what positive repentance looks like.

God’s relationship with Israel is not just that of a faithful husband to an immoral wife, but that of a lovestruck and affectionate Father to a wayward child. Hosea’s generation needed to know the Father’s steadfast love for them—and so do we.

This week we will be looking at "The Need for Justice," These passages in Hosea describe Israel as an unjust nation, and helps us see the importance of understanding biblical justice. Biblical justice, rooted in God's character, and is characterised by generosity, equality, and advocacy for the poor and marginalized. Hosea challenges us to examine our pursuit of affluence and the potential neglect of generosity. Hosea shows us that Seeking God is the solution for pursuing justice, with Jesus serving as the ultimate example of justice. We need to remember that we are called to love God, love others, and to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.

Once again we see in Hosea 8&9 that Isreal have been a people unfaithful to God and have broken their convent with him. As a result they receive God’s judgement. How do we respond to passages like this in scripture? How should we view them in light of Jesus? We will explore that together.

We all know the difference between a genuine relationship and a superficial one. God loves his people and desires to have a genuine relationship with them, so in this sermon, looking at Hosea 6, we explore what a genuine relationship with God looks like and how we can have that type of relationship with Him.

What happens when people turn from God to worship idols instead? Hosea 4 and 5 serve as an insight as well as a warning to some of the ramifications of being unfaithful to God. We see it results in a leadership crisis as well as divine judgement.

Hosea 2 might seem offensive to many of us, and partly that is because the gospel itself is offensive. Many of us are troubled by the description of sin, the reality of judgment and the one-sidedness of grace.

We start a new series this week called Steadfast Love, looking at the strange journeys of Hosea and Jonah. Today we look at the extraordinary task God gave Hosea: marrying a woman who would be unfaithful to him, as a picture of God’s relationship with Israel.
