In recent years, international firms have established their own courts, laws, tax systems, and private police forces inside Honduras. The Honduran government wants them out. Based less on the reality of the problem of racism than upon the emerging values of this new ‘class’, the celebration and promotion of taking the knee is understood as a new type of political etiquette that combines a sense of shame-awareness with a certain contempt for the ‘masses’ who attend football matches. Why did a head teacher in Meath take to the intercom system to call for a round of applause from all students because a pupil had announced he had begun transitioning to female?
