Scott Moore Joins the show today for an in depth conversation about the way sports are being distributed to fans and what we should expect for it moving forward.   With streaming services taking over cable television, the three brainstorm  ways to find a better pipeline between sports and its consumers. John, Richard and Scott break down the cost cutting trends media companies are taking in order to make more money and see if they can come up with alternative solutions to the problem on today's episode as they give you a unique perspective of the business side of Sports and Sports Media.

It's Iron Mike Kennan on the show today to fill John and Richard in on how the heck he became the coach of Team Italy for the 2026 Olympic Games.   The three get into the process it took to get hired by the Italians and then learn about what the job entails. Mike gives us a breakdown on how he has been recruiting his players as we get into the eligibility requirements, skill level and other factors they are considering while making decisions.   Mike also gives us a solid landscape of the hockey culture in Italy before we branch off and talk about his other experiences coaching international hockey and then his time in the NHL.  

Sports Writer and 9 Time New York Times Bestselling Author Jeff Pearlman makes his debut on the show as he joins John and his old colleague Richard Deitsch today. With season two of the HBO series "Winning Time" currently streaming there's no better time to talk to the man behind "Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980's" The book that inspired the hit show. We Talk to Jeff about the work he put into the book, his writing process and break down his experience consulting for the TV production, giving us an inside look at how sports TV and movies are made, before having a conversation about his newest book about the life of the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

We start the week off with two interviews for the price of one as Mike Harrington joins John and Richard Deitsch for the first half of the show to talk about the impact the late Rick Jeanneret had on the city of Buffalo and the Sabres franchise.   With Mike gone, in comes our friend Rob Longley to cap the episode off with an update on the Toronto Blue Jays as we get his assessment on their playoff picture with September nearing.

After our first show with Mark a couple weeks ago we knew we had to bring him back and that’s exactly what we’re doing.  Former Maple Leafs Producer Mark Askin is on with John and Paul today as they reflect on the life and career of the great Bobby Baun and reminisce on their experience growing up enjoying and working with the game of hockey on television.

It's schedule day in the NBA so basketball is on the mind.   The voice of the Toronto Raptors and good friend of the podcast is here as Matt Devlin joins Paul and John for a loose preview of theToronto Raptors' upcoming season.   Matt gives us his opinion on the teams roster as it stands today, talks about what he thinks their ceiling is for this year and lets us know why he is taking a "wait and see" approach before setting serious expectations for this team.

Armed with a list of many pressing sports topics to get to, John and Paul welcome Daren Millard to the show and accomplish...absolutely nothing.    You'd think we'd learn by now that when we have Daren on, conversation doesn't necessarily go as planned, yet... here we are again. They do manage to fit in some conversation about the sports scene in Vegas and the regulated access fans have to professional sports teams but if you're looking to learn something new today, don't get your hopes up as the three spend more time sharing memories from their time working together and provide their point of view on the growing industry they have been a part of for years.

James Sharman joins Paul Jones and John Shannon today for a much needed update on all that’s been going on in the soccer world this summer. We talk to James about his work trip to Portugal, what he was getting up to and his impression on the soccer culture in the country before shifting gears to the Premier League, the movement of top tier players and the insane transfer money being tossed around. We then spend some time digging into the impact Lionel Messi has had on North American Soccer and get James’ thoughts on the ongoing women’s World Cup.

It's the week of Paul Jones! Jonesy is subbing in for the recovering Bobcat all week as we make this a basketball themed monday with Doug Smith joining Jones and Shannon.   The three discuss the Toronto Raptors' rather uneventful offseason and try to figure how this team will perform in the regular season under a new coach before spending the last half of the show reacting to last night's NBA Hall  of Fame Induction ceremony.

Damien Cox is in for Bob today acting as co-pilot for John as we welcome Kevin Paul Dupont to the show to end the week.   We start the show by addressing the Phil Mickelson story that has taken over the internet and somehow it turned into a deep dive into Kevin and Damien's shared love of sports. From what their watching now to their memories of the greatest live events they've been to - the three look at how the world of sports has changed over the years before ending the show with a discussion about the NHL's Atlantic Division.
