On March 19th, 2014, school officials in Washington, DC went to a local homeless shelter to follow up on an 8-year-old student named Relisha Rudd due to her having missed more than two weeks of school. For several weeks, they’d reportedly been told by Relisha’s mother that she was under a doctor’s care. On July 4th, 2009, the bodies of NFL player Steve McNair and Jenni Kazemi were found in a condo in Nashville, Tennessee.  They had each been shot and died from gunshot wounds.  The investigation moved swiftly, and ultimately, it was determined that Jenni had murdered Steve before turning the gun on herself.  Although the case has been laid to rest, for some people, questions still remain about the investigation and a different murderer, who might have gotten away with it. ***TRIGGER WARNING***Gun Violence | Murder by Gunshot | Suicide | Lots of Football Talk in this One Want access to our first 45 episodes? UPDATE: She has been sentenced to life in prison since the time of this recording. On the afternoon of Monday, February 24th, 2020, first responders in Winter Park, Florida arrived at an apartment complex to find 42-year-old Jorge Torres Jr. dead inside of the apartment he shared with girlfriend, Sarah Boone. Jorge was unfortunately past the point of being able to be revived and was pronounced dead on scene. Homicide detectives arrived on scene to question Sarah, who told them a strange tale of what happened and how she’d “accidentally” left her boyfriend zipped up inside of a suitcase, then fell asleep. However, detectives soon recovered evidence on Sarah’s own cell phone that proved that Jorge’s death may not have been a tragic accident after all. In September of 2004, Mary Lou Jones called one of her daughter’s friends in Florida, concerned that she had gone several days without hearing from her daughter Michelle. The friend, who also hadn’t heard from Michelle in days, went over to Michelle’s house, and discovered a horrific scene. Michelle and her aunt Teri had been savagely murdered by Teri’s husband, Charlie Brandt. Charlie then took his own life.
