Success is not Revenue Alone! with Richard Conway - Episode 15 of Better Business, Better Life!
Richard Conway describes himself as Entrepreneur, father, author, columnist & investor.
He is the Founder and CEO of Pure SEO, New Zealand's most awarded search agency. They have been in the Deloitte fast 500 for 7 years in a row, so he knows how to grow a business. But as he says, "Success is not Revenue alone".
In this podcast he shares his journey from moving from the UK to NZ with no contacts & no networks & starting a small company, to where he has got to today.
Richard is also a published author, of the best selling book - "How to Get to the Top of Google Search" with Penguin Books & as a successful entrepreneur he happily shares his journey, his learnings & supports many others on their Entrepreneurial journey through talking at events, being an active member of EO & just generally always looking at how he can help people.
Richard also shares his 3 top tips for Business Owners & Entrpreneurs.
I met Richard whilst working at Tower Insurance (my final stint in a Corporate environment). It was whilst he was distracted, as Entrepreneurs often are, by running multiple businesses. He had this idea about an online insurance comparison site & I just happened to be the Manager of Marketing at Tower Insurance.
I am so grateful for that meeting because Richard & I became friends & he introduced me to The Icehouse (where I worked as a coach & mentor for 7 years) & to EO New Zealand (Entrepreneurs'
Organization) (where I found a new support family & made more great friends).
Those things changed my life & led me to launching The Common & meeting Daniel & Francesca from EOS Worldwide, when they launched into NZ using my event centre. From there I became a professional EOS Implementer & that too has changed my life.
Thank you Richard. From such a seemingly boring meeting about insurance to a lifetime friend that changed my life. And thanks for always openly sharing & helping people 💖

EXPERT SPOTLIGHT - Free up cash flow for growth with Sarah Lochead-MacMillan - Episode 13 of Better Business, Better Life!
Cash flow can be a real issue for businesses... Especially with the current environment where we have some industries pushing out payments to up to 80 days.
So what's stopping you from freeing up some cash to continue your growth initiatives?
Invoice financing is huge overseas in Europe & the US but many people don't actually know what it is in NZ, because it's not widely used.
Invoice financing is the process of releasing money from unpaid invoices, so that you can use that money to pay for things the business needs & Sarah Lochead-MacMillan, as the GM of Geneva is an expert in this area.
For many of the businesses, they have to wait maybe 60 plus days to get paid. There are some wholesalers who work with supermarkets that can be waiting up to about 75 days to get paid. If you're paying your staff weekly, that is a mistiming of cash.
And you always have rent and power and bills like that to pay monthly.
If you don't get paid for two months, how do you find the cash flow?
Join me as I speak with Sarah about the pros & cons of Invoice financing & how you can use it to accelerate growth in your business.
Sarah also shares her top 3 tips for businesses, which are simple but effective.

Down the Rabbit Hole with David Serville - Episode 11 of Better Business, Better Life!
Entrepreneurailsim runs in the Serville Family. David's brother is well known for starting Serville's Hair Salon, but who knew his brother created not one but 5 franchise businesses?
David is a driven entrepreneur with expertise in the franchising and service sectors. As the founder and CEO of CC Group NZ, he has been instrumental in catapulting Kiwi brands such as Crewcut (lawn mowing services and franchises), Crewcare (commercial cleaning services and franchises, Chemcare (asbestos removal), CC Training Academy (industry training), and CC Facilities Management (facilities services) to new and exciting heights.
However, as all entrepreneurs know, there's a danger of getting drawn down a rabbit hole, enticed by the bright, sparkly things that we all love.
So, how do you avoid these pitfalls & make sure you don't leave money on the table?
In 1991, David started a lawn mowing business with a business partner and a small business loan from the predecessor to WINZ. Almost 30 years later, that small business is now an established group of businesses.
In his typically understated way, David talks with me & takes us through his journey from that small business loan to a 'not so overnight success' group of companies that now employs 100s of staff. He shares with us how he learned from Amway, why he decided he had to learn about numbers, his relationship with his 3 wives, 5 kids & 4 grandchildren & how he avoids going down the rabbit hole.
David also shares his top 3 tips on how you can maintain clarity & focus.
