#22 Sports, Sales and Outrageous Service
Download the action plan here: http://jimharshawjr.com/action/
Today I bring you Greg Hatcher. Greg is a 1983 graduate of Alma College (Michigan) where he lettered in wrestling, soccer and baseball. Following graduation he began selling insurance for Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. For a record six of his seven years he was named Account Executive of the Year.
Greg then struck off on his own, starting the The Hatcher Agency from scratch in September of 1990 with a loan from the bank, an assistant, and 500 square feet of office space. He signed a 3 year lease thinking it would be all he would ever need but at the end of the first year he had outgrown his office space, had grown to 7 employees and produced more insurance than any agent in the state of Arkansas. Three years later The Hatcher Agency was named Arkansas' Small Business of the Year and was the largest health insurance agency in the state. They’ve led the state of Arkansas in health insurance sales every year since. Today, The Hatcher Agency has grown to 50 employees and insures over 180,000 individuals. They’ve been recognized as among the top 1% of health insurance producers nationwide.
In 1999, Greg wrote a book called 55 Steps to Outrageous Service, which outlines the service that The Hatcher Agency delivers everyday to their clients. It has sold over 15,000 copies and a publisher has purchased the rights to the book and is printing over 100,000 copies.
Greg’s greatest work has come from getting wrestling started in the state of Arkansas. He founded The Arkansas Wrestling Association and has purchased the mats for 60 high schools and 4 colleges to help get new programs started. Because of this, he has been honored with the “Dan Gable America Needs Wrestling Award” and been named WIN Magazine’s Man of the Year. Because of his efforts, over 4,000 kids now wrestle in Arkansas.

#20 How Wrestling Prepares You to Be an Astronaut, Test Pilot or Anything Else
Download the action plan here: http://jimharshawjr.com/action/
Dom Gorie had an amazing career as a Naval aviator and as a NASA astronaut. As a Navy pilot he logged over 6,700 hours in more than 35 aircraft and completed over 600 aircraft carrier landings. He flew 38 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. He then went on to be a Naval Test Pilot. His astronaut career includes four space shuttle missions, including trips to the International Space Station. As a father, the danger of his job wasn't lost on his family. As a child he'd experienced the loss of his own father when he was just 5 years old. His father, Captain Paul Pudwill of the USAF was killed in 1963 when the plane he was flying developed ice on its wings. Amazingly, Captain Pudwill ordered his crew to bail out then steered the plane away from populated areas before attempting to eject in time to save his own life.
Dom Gorie graduated from Miami Palmetto HS in Fl before going on to the US Naval Academy where he wrestled under legendary coach Ed Peery.

#17 How to Succeed at Just About Anything
Download the action plan here: http://jimharshawjr.com/action/
In this 17th episode of Wrestling with Greatness host Jim Harshaw interviews Matt Lindland, current USA Wrestling Greco Roman National coach, entrepreneur, whitewater rafting champion, actor, politician and UFC veteran .
Matt’s insight into success comes from his experience in multiple arenas. His methodology is clear, concise and actionable.
Here’s a little background. Matt wrestled for Clackamas Community College where he won the Junior College National Championship. He followed that with a career at Nebraska where he was ranked as high as #1 in the nation and finished the season 36-1, losing only the first round of the NCAA tournament. He then went on to an amazing senior level career winning Olympic and then World Silver medals in 2000 and 2001. For these accomplishments, Matt was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. After wrestling, he went on to a successful MMA career winning 10 fights in the UFC. He’s also an entrepreneur. He opened Team Quest, a gym based out of Oregon, with wrestling and MMA legend Randy Couture. As a trainer and coach, he took over 20 individuals from zero fights to the UFC. As if that’s not enough, he’s a politician. He ran for the Oregon House of Representatives where he won the primary but lost narrowly in the general election. There’s a documentary about Coach Lindland’s life called “Fighting Politics.” Finally, he’s a nationally competitive whitewater rafter, having won the Western Whitewater Championship Series six times.

#15 Building a $100+ Million Company with Persistence and Resilience
Download the action plan here: http://jimharshawjr.com/action/
Today I bring you Seth Goldman, CEO of Honest Tea. Honest Tea is a $100 million company that rattled the cages of beverage industry giants by introducing a great tasting, low-calorie, organic and healthier option. While that sounds like something that makes sense in today’s market, when Seth launched the company in the 1990’s it was revolutionary. And trying to introduce something revolutionary into an industry as challenging as the beverage market required perseverance and resilience… the kind found in a wrestler.
Honest Tea has since become the nation’s best selling organic bottled tea, being sold in over 100,000 outlets. Seth co-wrote, along with his business partner, a NYT Best Selling book titled Mission in a Bottle.
I first learned that Seth was a wrestler when he wrote an article for Inc Magazine titled “The Secret to Becoming a Resilient Entrepreneur” during the Save Olympic Wrestling Movement. When I reached out to him for this interview, I didn’t know what to expect. What I found was an inspiring person willing to share his amazing story and offer valuable insights into success that change your life.

I’ve been the executive director of a non-profit and have raised millions of dollars. I’ve worked in sales. I’ve even been a Division I head coach. While I was born in a blue-collar home I have spent my life surrounded by Olympians, CEO’s and millionaires. Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” I’ve been lucky. I’ve learned the habits of successful people and guess what. You’re just like them. I know because I know your type. You’re programmed for hard work, which is a prerequisite for success, but you’ve never been shown how to use what you know to create the life you want with the tools you have. I will show you how. Why You are Here You were a wrestler. You’ve trained and competed in the world’s toughest sport. You’ve set goals and maybe even set records. You’ve definitely failed and you’ve at some point found yourself questioning if you were on the right track. You need to understand this: You are far more prepared to succeed than those who’ve not trained, competed, struggled and overcome like you have. That’s the value of your education as a wrestler. You are prepared to be as successful as your wildest dreams will allow. Here I will teach you, with the help of brilliant minds that have been shaped by the learning that takes place in our sport, to be who you want to be. I sense that you want this because you have read this far. To take the next step today, click here. FOLLOW JIM Website | Facebook | Twitter

#13 Wrestling, MMA, Entrepreneurship, Disc Golf (yep): Translating Success with Olympian Ben Askren
Jim Harshaw interviews 2X NCAA Champion, Olympian, former Bellator Welterweight Champion, current ONE Welterweight Champion, former world top ten disc golfer (yep) and entrepreneur. I chose to invite Ben on the show not because of his wrestling prowess but because he's been able to replicate success into other sports and now as an entrepreneur. Ben practices many of the 8 Habits of Massively Successful Wrestlers (DOWNLOAD THEM HERE: http://go.jimharshaw.net/8-habits/) while not even realizing it. He's a big thinker and his success on this planet is just beginning. Let's connect: Website | Facebook | Twitter About Your Host Jim Harshaw My name is Jim Harshaw.
