He also manages a real estate team and is actively investing in real estate and different businesses— all while enjoying life with his beautiful wife and daughters.  Cody joins us in this episode to share his own success through failure story— from growing up living an unconventional life to finally securing success in his personal life and in the real estate business. Action Plan: https://jimharshawjr.com/ACTION Free Clarity Call: https://jimharshawjr.com/APPLY Chris Warner has been at the top of the world— literally and figuratively. Buckle up as he takes us through some of the most absurd, most challenging, and most rewarding leadership expeditions one could ever imagine. Chris Warner is a climber, entrepreneur, and leadership educator. He’s led over 230 mountaineering expeditions in Asia, North and South America, Africa, and Antarctica.  He guided the first-ever reality TV show on Mount Everest, filmed an Emmy-nominated documentary about his team’s K2 climb, and pioneered new routes throughout the Himalaya.  In 1990, Chris started a business with $592 and grew it into the first national chain of indoor climbing gyms. When he retired as CEO, the company had 1,000 employees serving 2 million customers annually.  Today, he’s an investor in private companies, a mentor to CEOs, and a real estate developer in Aspen, Colorado.  During his 25+ years as a leadership educator, he’s worked with Google execs, NFL and NHL teams, Fortune 500 firms, Silicon Valley startups, and thousands of CEOs and their senior leadership teams.  What you're about to hear in this episode are stories from a man who has lived through probably the most unbelievable leadership challenges that I’ve heard of in the six years of the Success Through Failure podcast. #361 Mission Critical: Transformation and Enlightenment Through a Crucible Experience with Appalachia Service Project

Action Plan: https://jimharshawjr.com/ACTION Free Clarity Call: https://jimharshawjr.com/APPLY After 5 days of doing manual labor in sweltering 95-degree heat in West Virginia, summer would never be the same for my two sons and me…  I always tell my kids, “You get tough by doing tough things.” So I thought, “what better way to start their summer break than to give my two oldest kids their much-needed coming-of-age experience!” Instead of our usual fun summer getaway adventures, my sons— Jesse (16) and Wyatt (14)— and I went on a mission trip that changed the way we view the world. This year, my boys and I signed up for a mission trip organized by the Appalachia Service Project— a “Christian ministry that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair and replacement.” During the seven-day mission trip, we spent our nights sleeping in a gymnasium with 70 strangers, while our days were spent sweating through our jeans from the non-stop digging and hammering and building.  The experience changed us, to say the least. Not because of the hard work. I’ve worked plenty of construction jobs. But because of the emotional conflict that I walked away with. In this episode, allow me to take you back to our trip to Kanawha County and experience what it’s like to make a dent in the world— one family at a time.  If you don’t have time to listen to the entire episode or if you hear something that you like but don’t have time to write it down, be sure to grab your free copy of the Action Plan from this episode— as well as get access to action plans from EVERY episode— at http://www.JimHarshawJr.com/Action.

#355 What the Experts Aren't Telling You: The Incomplete Truth About Success, Failure, and Achieving Your Potential

Action Plan: https://jimharshawjr.com/ACTION Free Clarity Call: https://jimharshawjr.com/APPLY There are lots of paths to take in life. Only a few lead to success. In this episode, I reveal a framework about the environment you need to create to find success despite, and often because of, failure, so that you can finally move from where you’re at to where you want to go. There are so many critical gaps that are missing from the message about how to create success.  “Post your goals on the mirror.”“Read books.”“Have a good attitude.” You’ve heard them all.  While these are a good start, they’re incomplete. They're not telling you the whole story.  In this episode, I close these gaps using a crystalized 4-step framework so you can insulate yourself from the negative effects of failure and at the same time leverage the benefits of failure, so that you can get from here to there— whatever your desired “there” may be! Listen now. If you don’t have time to listen to the entire episode or if you hear something that you like but don’t have time to write it down, be sure to grab your free copy of the Action Plan from this episode— as well as get access to action plans from EVERY episode— at http://www.JimHarshawJr.com/Action.
