Spirit Crumbs

This episode is the introduction to a series of episodes on the chakras! One chakra will be released each week, starting with the root chakra next week on June 8. I am SO excited to announce that I will be releasing 2 episodes per week for each of the chakras - one overview and one INTERVIEW! The interviews will be with someone who is learning to master something related to the chakra of the week! This week's episode is an overview of the chakras. I talk about the location, colour and key themes for each one. I discuss how the chakras are energy centres in alignment with our spines and that together they are one system. Our emotions and experiences move through the chakra system and can cause them to become unbalanced. There are many ways that we can bring them back into alignment including meditation, yoga, crystals, energy healing and movement. Follow along for the next 7 weeks as we dig deeper into every chakra. In the first episode each week, I will discuss the themes and shadows of each one. Some more specific healing techniques and affirmations will be provided. The second episode each one will be an interview with someone who has an intimate relationship with the chakra of the week. Their experiences of healing and struggling are inspiring and so relatable! In today's episode, we kick off Gemini season with one of my best friends from childhood, Lynsey O'Donnell!  In this conversation, we talk mostly about communication (so Gemini!) and also about Lynsey being a woman in the tech industry. She shares her perspective on Gemini energy because she has a LOT of it and really feels the retrogrades! In today's episode, I was inspired to talk about animals as spirit crumbs. I pulled the Power Animal card in Card Pull Friday last week and then was guided to the arboretum where I had some significant animal encounters! I really love how we can receive such clear confirmations and validations that our guides and the universe are really supporting us and know what is in our hearts. I was so grateful for the accurate messages that I found within the symbolism of each animal. I connected with hawks, a snake, a groundhog and cardinals!  I am being reminded over and over again to slow down and go within for a period of retreat. Transformation and rebirth are happening but the pause is a necessary part of the process. In today's episode, I was inspired to talk about the 24 Returning card from the Visionary I Ching deck which is based on the 24th hexagram in the I Ching. I have made connections to the 24th Gene Key as well. This is an updated perspective on themes from my Processing Endings episode. I've found that the period between ending and beginning that I described in that episode is relevant to the 24th hexagram as well. When we get to the furthest extreme of a situation, we can choose to turn back inwards for a period of rest and renewal before we start to initiate action again. There is a cycle that we each have where this time of recharging is necessary. We cannot force our way forward. By looking at our patterns and addictions, we are able to take away the fear that prevents us from changing them. In this episode, I am talking about processing endings.  Everything in life is a cycle. When we move from one to another, we tend to do this without reflection. I talk in this episode about how the invisible space between the ending of one cycle and the beginning of the next is so potent for growth! The cycle of death and rebirth is one that I have become intimately connected to in my life and I talk about how I navigate this by really looking at the wisdom and shadows of every ending.  I decided to record and publish this episode today because it is the New Moon in Aries. I mentioned that the birch tree represents the new year in Celtic and Shamanic astrology, but Aries is the new year for the astrological year as well! The birch themes of determination and initiation resonate a lot with Aries energy. The only Aries in my chart is Jupiter - so this is a lucky and prosperous time for me! The themes for this episode are intuition and fear. This episode is the second of two about the throat chakra and how our shadows can prevent us from moving forward confidently.  I was inspired by the New Moon in Pisces and some recent live Instagram readings that revealed many blocks around trusting our intuition and feeling confident to be seen in our power.  A spirit crumb led me to pull a book off my shelf that I hadn't read before. This brought an insight that was able to connect our throat chakra and intuition - the topics I've been trying to reconcile for awhile now! This insight is also the key to manifestation.
