Recently I sat down with Jen Pollock Michel the award-winning author of Teach Us to Want and Keeping Place. Jen offers a clear and insightful look into the Christian life in her writing and speaking and it was a joy to talk with her for this podcast. We talk about the connection between longing and belonging in the Christian life, the gift and burden of serving others by providing a place of belonging, biblical examples of belonging, how a church like NewCity can become a more hospitable place of belonging, cultural counterfeits to belonging, and more. In this episode I interview Dr. Mike Allen about the Trinity and the Christian life. In Ephesians, Paul prays for us to come to know and experience the beauty of our triune God. We see all three persons mentioned by name in several passages in Ephesians. My hope is that this podcast, in conjunction with our fall sermon series in Ephesians, will increasingly give us eyes to see and ears to hear the unique way our triune God— Father, Son, and Spirit—brings redemption and restoration in the body of Christ and all of creation.
