Reem Kharbat, The Entrepreneur Accelerator

Today’s episode takes us to Riyadh Saudi Arabia where we meet Reem Kharbat. Reem wears many hats at any given time including: a CPA holder, a Serial Entrepreneur currently running an entrepreneur accelerator program, a Real Estate mogul, a Personal Brand & Business Coach, and a Podcaster like myself. Reem grew up in a small town in Jordan, where at a very early age she knew her personality was an inquisitive mind & discovering new things. In spite of growing up in a culture that did not allow for girls to travel on their own to anywhere, Reem managed to leave home, travel to America for her CPA, and from there she has been to 19 different countries, in different capacities including being a CFO,  sitting on a board of directors, and a consultant helping other investors and millionaires make decisions and do feasibility studies to build and invest their business in Saudi Arabia & other countries.  Reem's passion is to help any person who really has the passion and the will to take their expertise and turn it into a business. She says that if you have something that you really believe in and you want to share with the world, you can do that without being limited to a geographical area or a zone. Her clients are attracted to her because she not only has the knowledge, but also her values and work ethic, coupled with honesty and genuine care to turn her client’s business or product into an excellent product that truly brings results to the client. Reem’s work mantra is excellence and creativity in everything she does. In this virtual world, she ensures she builds a human connection and always follows up with her client even after projects are completed. How does she overcome the blocks of moving an idea to doing an actual project?Write down all the ideas you have as soon as you get them, there’s power in that creative process of writing things down. By writing down your idea, you’re mapping it out. When you see this in front of you daily, it has a compounding effect. Without realizing you'll start working on it slowly and will turn your idea into something tangible. Do the market research for your product. A hungry audience, people who really need this thing to be sold for them, but at the same time, they are capable of paying.Invest in your collaborators, not just a cup of coffee, actually spend money on them, or offer even equity, so that they are fully immersed and focused on the project. Don’t pay them in coffee. As a leader, don’t spread yourself too thin. Collaborate with other people who have the skills you lack and focus on your growth strategy, building a team, and becoming a great leader. Other resources mentioned in this episode:Website: Reem KharbatFacebook entrepreneur accelerator labApple Podcast:  The entrepreneur accelerator podcastSpotify:  The entrepreneur accelerator podcastPodtail: The entrepreneur accelerator podcast SummaryDon’t hold back your knowledge, it could be the key to transforming somebody else’s life.

Moody Bank$, R&B Singer Songwriter

We’ve had a chance to travel all over the world, virtually to talk to creative experts and practitioners in all areas of the arts to find out what inspires them to find out how they organize their ideas. In today’s episode, we're in the world’s live music capital, Austin, Texas. and my guest today is Moody Bank$.Moody is an up-and-coming R&B singer-songwriter and her music has been described as “Smoky alto sounds over infectious pop hooks.”During her creative and songwriting process, whenever she hears a beat, Moody asks herself, "What color does this beat make me feel?" By answering this question, she’s able to get a sense of how a song can bring about the feeling of color or energy.  Specific colors help inspire her.Moody understands that the more a song can bring you to a specific moment or memory or feeling, the more likely people are going to resonate with that song. Some of her main musical influences include Erykah Badu & Jill Scott because of their writing and use of real instruments. What guides Moody & her team during the creative process?  Not being attached to your art, to the point where it starts interrupting the flow of it. Not taking the art too seriously and just working from an organic space. When collaborating with her band and her music producer, she gives them creative freedom to create openly without attachments and lets them know their voice matters. As for conquering the music industry, two pointers from Moody to be able to shine in this industry include:Being self-sufficient: Taking care of yourself, knowing how to be all-rounded.Going with the flow: Don’t limit yourself to a singular idea   Youtube: Moody Bank$ & her band Fallen Dollars live recordingSpotify: Moody Bank$Apple Music: Moody Bank$Instagram:@M00dybanks There are definitely challenges throughout this journey but you have to persevere, stay consistent & take control of your life’s trajectory. As she works on her tape “Feeling Colors” Moody’s key takeaway is “If the product is good enough, people are going to see it.” Music tracks are copyrighted, provided by the artist, and used with permission.

Yaya Zazueta, Alma de Pueblo

Meet Yaya ZazuetaOur guest today joins us from the state of Sonora, and the town of Ures, in Mexico. Oralia Zazueta, affectionately known as "Yaya." Ures: The Town that inspired The BrandYaya was very happy and anxious to talk about her project, Alma de Pueblo,From Sonora and Ures, which are located in the north of Mexico, her project essentially sources local foods and products. Yaya created Alma del Pueblo to show people their traditions and the results of their hard work. Ures is the oldest town in Sonora, so it has a lot of history and traditions. Yaya considers Ures to be the soul of the Sonora culture, so they have a lot to talk about and offer to everyone around the world. The soul of a town like Ures definitely is the people. The history that Ures has and the education and values of their people and children. It is very important for them to engage the people and to return to their traditions. In Ures, people are artisans and they do specific things with a lot of love.About Alma de PuebloCurrently, Alma de Pueblo offers eight different products. Their main product is 100% roasted and toasted Mexican coffee. There are also the Spanish Jamoncillos. They are very sweet candies that are very traditional in Ures, as well as pipitorias, machaca, obleas, and others products. Her idea is to sell them in a beautiful gift box for those who want to try them all at once.Yaya’s business-oriented mind started in her childhood; her father used to be a businessman so she was inspired to become a businesswoman, it came easy to her. Yaya says, "Nowadays we have to do different types of business. We have to think about our consumers. We have to think about our target markets and we need to be different."Alma de Pueblo is a  social brand. The purpose of Alma de Pueblo is to share around the world the products that are made in Ures. Alma de Pueblo is a social responsibility for the people, the education of the people, the social problems, and all the things that nowadays have been lost. Want to find out more about the project? Find them on Facebook and Instagram as @Almadepueblosonmex. You find their products, as well as videos and photographs about how the products are made. About the marketingYaya said that currently, she uses local influencers to promote her products. She says that there are very different tools to make these connections or to organize your ideas. The influencers she uses help her communicate her ideas to other people. Then she finds a great graphic designer that captures her vision and puts them into a beautiful marketing strategy. The future of Alma de PuebloRight now, the Alma de Pueblo products are only available in Mexico but they have plans to sell the project around the world exporting the brand to the US and Canada. Yaya wants the people to know thair her brand is unique and create more engagement around it. About her way to creativity and projectsYaya says that when you have a very clear vision of what you want to be the project, is very easy for you to communicate to people. You have to identify the target market by age, socioeconomic level, and location. And then, you have to think about your project 24/7. You have to think about your project and once you do that, the inspiration will come. Her best advice for this is to get a comfortable space, put on some music, and make yourself a very nice cup of coffee, and then the ideas will come. https://www.facebook.com/almadepueblosonmexhttps://www.instagram.com/almadepueblosonmex/

Dave Noll, Emmy-Winning TV Show Creator & Producer

Dave Noll is a TV Show Creator and Showrunner who has created, sold, and produced more than 50 series and over 3,300 episodes worldwide. Shows Include: Chopped, and all Chopped spinoffs, Inner Chef with Marcus Samuelsson, Face the truth, Punchline, quizzicle, and the most recent America Says. Dave and his partner Cleve Keller (Keller/Noll) joined together exclusively in 2007. With 50+ series together, they have become one of the most successful TV development teams in the world.Dave believes that life is a series of pitches. no matter who you are, you're going to be pitching at some point and you really do just have to embrace that.A great deal of his success stems from working for Barry Diller, who started the Fox network. Barry's advice to him was “don't pitch any show, unless you see a clear, obvious, concise path to at least a $100 million - not $10 million or $12 million, - $100 million." This mindset will help you create something with forever power. Dave’s top 5 things to do to achieve a successful pitchRemain positive no matter what happens, it's going to help you. People like confidence. they want to buy from someone that’s confident.Keep it simple. People love simplicity. They don't want more confusion in their life.Do as much research. Research who you're pitching to, their history, what’s worked for them, and what value you’ll be delivering in your product or serviceEnsure the people you’re talking to really understand that you appreciate where they're coming from as well.In every pitch, bring one cool, awesome thing that they can remember,The best thing about working with a creative collaborator such as Cleve Keller is the ability to bounce something off of not only creatively, but business-wise off of someone that you trust. If you’d like to reach Dave, you can engage with him on LinkedIn In Summary, creativity goes hand in hand with positivity, but it's also all about sharing everything. To be able to be creative, you must exercise those creative muscles daily. The same way as you lift weights or play golf, to get that swing down. You have to do it every single day until you hit on that magical thing.
