In this podcast, featuring The Reverend Thomas Pelham, The Reverend Daniel French, The Reverend Doctor J.A. Franklin and the occasional guest, we attempt to give some answers. Confess your climate sins because time has quite literally run out...
The original team return this week. Revs Tom and Jamie review the very serious COP26 conference, paying particular attention to Justin Welby's rather extreme comments on the subject of climate catastrophe, Prince Charles' somewhat megalomaniacal suggestions and the mysterious climate confessional which invites delegates to confess their climate sins. We also comment on the nudge culture which is being openly promoted by Sky. And in Covid news there's the terrible and senseless reality of care home workers being clapped one minute and sacked the next for not taking the Covid-19 vaccine. The spectre of mandatory vaccination for NHS staff is also on the agenda this week. Our Scripture this time is taken from Ephesians 3.Notices:Thanks to our Patreons! A Christian Guide to Climate Change - Christian Leaders in Conversation
Responding to the COP26 event in Glasgow this November, Irreverend hosts and Church of England vicars Revd Dr Jamie Franklin and Revd Daniel French are joined by Senior Minister of the Tron Church, Glasgow, Revd Dr William Phillip to discuss the climate change movement. Should Christians support the climate agenda or critique it? What does the Bible and Christian tradition have to say that is relevant to the topic of climate change? Why is the Church seemingly so overwhelmingly supportive of this particular political agenda? We aim to provide some helpful answers.Links:William Phillip - COP26: Climate Change Zealots Doubling As Christians in Name OnlyDave Brennan - What is a pagan goddess doing in a place of Christian worship?Neil Oliver - We haven’t even got past Halloween but it’s already panto season at COP26Steve Koonin - Unsettled?Support the show

Does the Church of England Want You ? Special Extra Podcast
Should the Church of England be more elusive than inclusive? Is the Church shutting out social and cultural conservatives in their millions because of an enthusiasm to draw in political progressives, SJWs? Rev Daniel French explores these questions and reads an article he wrote in the Mallard online magazine last week which has travelled well online and caused some discussion. https://mallarduk.com/does-the-church-of-england-want-you-daniel-a-french/Support the show

Sir David Amess, No Children for Climate Change, Michael Nazir-Ali Swims the Tiber - Revs in Conversation
Revs Tom and Jamie sit down to discuss a sad week which saw the brutal murder of one of the few great men in public life, Sir David Amess. We discuss the political, religious and cultural issues that this event raises, and we celebrate something of the goodness of the man himself. We also look at an article by Tom Woodman which confesses that he cannot bring himself to have children because of the apocalyptic threat that the climate change phenomenon presents to us. We also review the decision of Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali to swim the Tiber and convert from Anglicanism to Roman Catholicism. Our Scripture this week is taken from Psalm 8.Notices:Thanks to our Patreons! Podcast Extra - Care Homes and Covid-19
For this special episode of the podcast, Rev'd Dr Jamie Franklin is joined by Dr Ali Haggett, academic and practitioner in the areas of mental health and well-being, and Rev'd Dr William Philip, former cardiologist and senior minister of the Tron Church, Glasow, to discuss the neglect and abuse of residents in the UK's care homes. Restriction of visitors, blanket do not resuscitate orders, exposure of the elderly to infection when the nation was told they had been put within a "protective ring", shoddy practices around medical certificates of cause of death and the redefinition of "end of life" to restrict access of loved ones at crucial moments: what does the treatment of the elderly and those who are in care reveal about the nature of society and is there anything that can be done about it?Links:Ali Haggett, Protecting them to DeathUnlock Care HomesPeople's Care WatchdogRights for ResidentsNotices:Thanks to our Patreons!
