22. FIRE: Burning Away Obstruction with Heidi Rose Robbins

My intention with this episode is to open up space for a conversation about working with the element of Fire in your life and in your magical offering. Who else to help me explore this topic than the radiant Heidi Rose Robbins?! An Aries Sun and Leo Rising, Heidi is a force of inspiration in the field of astrology. Heidi grew up in Fargo, North Dakota with an astrologer father and an architect mother, learning the zodiac with her ABC’s. She holds an MFA in acting, has published two books of poetry and just released a new book series of Astrological Love Letters for each sign of the zodiac. She has performed twice for TED X in Los Angeles. Heidi has also led Radiant Life Retreats for over 10 years and has a thriving astrology practice with clients from around the world. Heidi lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. Please find Heidi at her wonderful podcast The Radiance Project, on Instagram at @heidiroserobbins to receive your daily Moon Notes and other wisdom, and check out her readings, publications (including her series of Love Letters for each of the 12 signs), and teachings at her website www.heidirose.com.  As in the AIR episode, the first part of this one is me grounding us into definitions and introducing aspects of the topic of Fire that I wanted to share as a way into and to prepare for the conversation with Heidi. If you'd like to jump straight to that interview, the time stamp is around 27 minutes.  Don't miss the final ten minutes where I get into aspects of Fire that aren't mentioned anywhere else in the episode, particularly those that have to do with Sag and Jupiter.  The incredible poem Heidi shares is titled "Burn" from her poetry book Wild Compassion.  The psychosynthesis thinker we discuss is Roberto Assagioli.  To hear the episode on The Radiance Project where Heidi interviews me, click here.  Don't forget to learn more about and sign up for the waiting list for The Magician's Table: A Workshop Circle for Emerging Readers.  In this episode, I also refer to The Norse Shaman by Eva Rysdyk when I read from my Living the Signs: Sagittarius workbook.  It is my sincere desire that you enjoy this episode and find inspiration and resonant wisdom here. If you do, please kindly leave a rating and review in exchange.  To support my work and get to know me and more about my process, please come hang out over in my Patreon space. 21. AIR: Accessing Your Own Voice with Natasha Levinger

My intention with this episode was to open up a conversation about working with the element of Air in your life and in your magical offering to the world. The first part of the episode is my own exploration of the subject and then the second half holds a lively conversation with my guest Natasha Levinger of Highest Light Healing. Topics that came up include:  - Healing after years of gaslighting  - Boundaries with the Inner Critic and with other people's stories for you - Working with brain chemistry - Swords cards - The analytical mind versus the intuitive mind  - Mercury and the mind  - Hearing wisdom from your spirit guides  - Constellating your community with the howl of your clear, unique voice  - Being highly "Transpersonally aware" when you're both very Aquarian and very Piscean  I adore and hold deep respect for my guest Natasha Levinger. Natasha is an energy reader, healer and spiritual coach. In her practice she works with her clients to help them heal trauma from their chakras and energy fields. She includes modes of therapeutic models such as Inner Child Healing and Mindful Self Compassion so that clients can continue their healing on their own. She also helps people by communicating to their pets, giving healings to them and communicating with those who have passed on. Through her practice, Highest Light Healing, she looks forward to helping even more people through classes, one on one sessions and meditations. You can learn about Natasha's Inner Child Healing course HERE, receive her near-daily meme magic on Instagram HERE, and book sessions with her HERE.  To learn about Britten's upcoming learning journey The Magician's Table: A Workshop Circle for Emerging Readers, click HERE. 20. A Love Libation to Pisces & the Astrology of Pisces Season

“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.” - Anaïs Nin, Pisces Sun-Jupiter & Venus In this episode I begin by discussing why and how learning about being a Pisces Sun changed my life. (I get a little weepy, I admit it.) I do this as a way to invite you to attuning to the 12th sign. Then share a review of where we are in the astrology of 2021 right now as we move into Pisces season. This is meant to ground you and help you re-orient to the present. After that, I share a review of the key dates and energetic invitations of the Piscean season to support you in looking ahead and relating to whatever comes up.  Finally, I close by offering a 20-minute lesson on Pisces from my 2019 Pisces-themed course Neptune Vibes, the first class I ever taught on astrology! It has the raw passion and intimacy with the material that you have when you teach a class for the first time.  Whether you consider yourself very Piscean, or whether the archetype feels far away for you, I hope you enjoy the episode! I hope it feels like balm in the cold.   To check out the gorgeous Living the Signs: Pisces workbook, click here.   To learn about the Into the Waves: A Full Moon Retreat on February 28 in Dallas, click here.  To learn about the Pisces Masterclass I'll be doing on my birthday March 4 with my bday buddy and cherished friend Jonathan Koe, join my newsletter or follow me on IG for updates. That will be announced very soon.  Sending well wishes to everyone out there, especially those affected by the cold and power outages of the last week.

#19: The Magician's Table: Tools for Your Magic

In the episode I introduce a framing device that I’ve been noodling on for nearly a year to help me conceptualize the relationship I have to my magic: how I show up to my life and invite in what I want or something even better. To learn more about The Magician’s Table at my website, and register for the upcoming webinar, click here.  The inspiration for this naming is (no shocker!) The Magician card in the tarot. In many renditions of the card, we see a figure with one hand up holding a wand to the sky to channel information from divine and bring it down through the body and onto the earthly plane though the other hand. Before the figure, we see a wooden table. On it, there are four elemental tools: THE WAND - FIRE: the animating spirit within that shows up as passion, energy, zest, bravado THE SWORD - AIR: the mental realm of ideas, words, thoughts, persuasion, rhetoric, and communication THE CUP - WATER: the emotional world of feelings and empathy, intuitive access to unconscious and dream realms THE PENTACLE - EARTH: body, home, senses, money, business, and practical life To be a reader of any kind, whether you are a creator, artist, or wordsmith in service to your clients or an intuitive guide, therapist, or spiritual coach in the work of healing, the Magician’s Table can be a supportive framing device for cultivating ever deeper intimacy with your tools. For this I have found to be true: closer and closer attunement to your tools will assist you in emerging more fully as a reader, creator, and guide of any kind. One of basic tenets (that which we hold as true) of a magical life is that the inner world is a mirror for the outer world, and the outer world is a mirror for the inner world. Thus, personal practices of attunement to tools are essential to your professional growth. And likewise, the expansion of external practices with clients and increased visibility in open spaces like Instagram will bring you into more and more need for personal healing. Through the framework of The Magician’s Table, which I will be teaching about extensively on my podcast (with exciting interviews with magical people forthcoming - EEP!), in the webinar, and as a rite of passage in our workshop circle, I will share how working with the elemental tools of Fire, Air, Water, and Earth can support you in personal and professional expansion and towards a self-claiming of this identity and calling. At the end of March, I will hold space for a 10-week rite of passage for those who wish to go deeper here. In the space of this iteration of The Magician’s Table, participants will be initiated in and through a process of integration in order to name, know, and identify as seer, mystic, and reader. To sign up for the waiting list to find out when the doors open for this intimate journey, please click here.

#17: Speak Your Voice

It's 2021: Year of The Hierophant! And since 2 + 0 + 2 + 1 = 5, that means it's a 5 year. In the tarot, 5 is associated with The Old Crow / Crone known as The Hierophant. The Hierophant is an energy that invites you into deeper connection to your inner voice, truth, and sacred wisdom, and to become more conscious about and congruent with how your own felt, embodied truth moves through your throat. Thus, it felt so right that this morning - here at the start of the New Year - I received the insight to "Speak Your Voice."  In this episode, my topic is focused on the art of divination. In this episode:  - I define the term and talk about why humans have enjoyed divination for centuries  - I discuss why I've had resistance to aligning myself with the term publicly, which allows me to tease out what I consider skillful from unskillful forms of divination  - I flow over with loving words for divination and why I am so excited to share this passion with you  - I share tips and suggestions for tightening your practices with divinatory tools  - I speak to the fact that not everyone is always in the frame of mind and body to work with divination, and how to know when it's safe to go there - I give some advice for vetting a reader if you don't practice divination yourself  - I give us a four-card tarot reading because... it's an episode on divination!  I hope you enjoy receiving this as much as I loved creating it for you. I recorded when Neptune was at the eastern horizon so that this great teacher of my Piscean Mercury could watch over my words and expand their possibilities. Wishing you all a beautiful closure to 2020 and an exciting "seeding" window for the year ahead.  To book a Year Ahead Reading, click here. #15: Don't Get Swept Away: The Astrology of Sagittarius Season 2020

This episode has two parts. Please forgive the occasional lawnmower noise. The content was too good to delete and re-record.  First, I offer a reorientation to various astrological cycles we've been in, sharing questions to ask yourself and ways to attune to the energy invitations we've been in. The goal here to help you know what you've been learning, identify patterns, name your stories, and recognize where you are within them.  And then, I go through the major astrological dates and their vibes, from Nov 21 when the Sun enters Sag through Dec 20 just before Capricorn season begins. This is to help you attune to what's coming in so you can be present to it and work with how it feels.  In the episode, I mention the work of Luis Mojica and Carolyn Elliott.  To learn more about and support my workbook projects, please check out my website brittenlarue.com. #14 Brave Sight: The Astrology of Scorpio Season

We don't need astrology to tell us that the coming four weeks will carry a LOT. We all feel it coming. If astrology offers us a reflection and contextualization of our lived experience, if this old ancient language can help us understand and move through this specific moment in time, then let us experiment with the possibility that studying the astrology of the moment can be nourishing, empowering, and resonant. Will you join me?  This is by necessity brief. I could have covered so much more here. But I have done that elsewhere. For an in-depth look at Scorpio, please check out my 160-page workbook Living the Signs: Scorpio or my oral teachings on the sign in The Medicine of Autumn audio series. See also my previous episode with Lara Veleda Vesta, which is very Scorpionic in nature (even though astrology is never mentioned!).  In the episode, I mention the excellent work of Danica Boyce and Luis Mojica. Please check out Danica's podcast Fair Folk and Luis's podcast Holistic Life Navigation to learn more about their teachings.   Please reach out if you have any questions. Sending warm wishes.

#13: Transition as Initiation with Lara Veleda Vesta

It is with great pleasure and pride that I share my first interview on Moon to Moon. My intention with this interview has been to honor and celebrate the work of a teacher I greatly admire and respect, and I was thrilled and grateful when Lara Veleda Vesta said Yes to my request for her conversation. I begin with a contemplation on teachers, and what makes for a great teacher. This lasts about 14 minutes if you want to jump straight to hearing Lara.  During the interview, Lara shares her incredible story as a way to ground us in understanding how she came to the key phrases, healing frameworks, and teaching methods that have been profoundly shifting for me and so many others. We go really deep, and we discuss difficult, "scary" topics. Please review the themes below to be sure you are in a mental-emotional place to listen without too much triggering. I recommend listening on a walk or in a safe space, so that you are able to receive without distraction. You might enjoy lighting a candle to signal your preparedness.   Topics include: embracing surrender and non-linearity, de-colonizing one's spiritual practice, letting go of who we once were and loving who we are now, living in a culture without proper rites of passages, anchoring through illness and disease, learning to trust our "unverifiable personal gnosis" while still holding deep respect for academic standards and primary source evidence, embracing animism as a way of life, healing the "witch wound" and how it affects everything and everyone on this planet, loving the idea of teachers as portal-openers, and much more. We close with the question: what does it mean for you to live "moon to moon?" I love her answer.   You can follow Lara on Instagram at @veledavesta. Check out her website laravesta.co and her deeply nourishing Patreon community. I also encourage you to check out her Moon Divas Guidebook and her learning space The Wild Soul School. I encourage all listeners to check out her upcoming Ancestral Connection class. To work more intimately with the themes of our conversation, please order my Living the Signs: Scorpio workbook. Similar themes are covered in different ways in this podcast's namesake workbook: Moon to Moon.
