Talk Toomey with Joshua Toomey

Johnny Kelly joins Joshua Toomey and Talk Toomey to discuss his latest project, Eye Am. The band consists of Kirk Windstein, Todd Strange, Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly. The Eye Am single will be released June 2nd through Corpse Paint Records. Toomey and Johnny talk about if he is still the drummer of Danzig and Johnny gives his thoughts on The Misfits reunion. He dives into getting the call to play with Black Label Society and having to learn the set quickly. Johnny also runs down how he joined Quiet Riot and goes down memory lane with Type O Negative. Type O tours with Life of Agony, Nine Inch Nails and Motley Crue are discussed. Johnny looks fondly on touring with Pantera. The guys end with some drum talk and more on Eye Am!! 

Toomey and Ro start the show with some talk about Ro recently seeing Bloodywood in concert. He talks about the significance of seeing a band from India doing well and representing their shared heritage. Toomey gives a review of the Riki Racthman story telling show that he attended. Brian Willie of Currents joins the Talk Toomey podcast to discuss the latest album, The Death We Speak. Brian talks about having the album completed for over a year and speaks on getting excited again for the record. Brian and Joshua talk about the latest tours the band has been a part of and thoughts on playing new songs before they are released. Brian talks Linkin Park and All That Remains being early influences. He also talks about his moments as a kid being a part of a Tae Kwon Do performance team and that being some of his early times in front of an audience. Dez Fafara joins the Talk Toomey Podcast to discuss all things Dealing With Demons Vol. II. Dez talks about his bout with covid and the record being prophetic with topics of time and mortality. Dez speaks on being grateful to being doing interviews, listening to music and being around family. The chat takes a turn when Dez's tiki mug collection is examined (Dez was pacing around his room during the interview). Dez then takes us on a tour of his vocal recording studio. The Cradle of Filth tour was a success and Dez gives a little of his history with the band. Coal Chamber is going on tour with Mudvayne this summer and Dez tells the story of how the tour came together. Dez talks Pantera and Black Sabbath being huge for his career. DJ Kilmore of Incubus joins Joshua Toomey and Talk Toomey this week. Kilmore and Toomey start the conversation with his ties to Primer 55 and playing on Introduction To Mayhem. The guys talk about the plethora of DJs in bands in the late 90s and 2000s. The changing technology of DJing is broken down.  Kilmore talks about how he joined Incubus and how having to almost missing Valentines Day to audition. He also dives into the evolving process of writing music with Incubus. The guys look back at tours with System of a Down, Deftones, Limp Bizkit and Primus. Alan Robert of Life of Agony returns to the Talk Toomey Podcast to discuss the 30th Anniversary Tour of River Runs Red. Alan dives into the first show of the tour really setting the stage for the entire tour. Joshua and Alan talk about how much River Runs Red means to the fans and everyone in the crowd. Alan looks back on touring with KMFDM, Carcass, Ozzy and Obituary. The guys look back on the OzzFest 98 lineup and how those side stage bands took over. Alan talks about his history with CBGBs and L'Amour. The guys speak on Alan having to revisit the lyrical content on River Runs Red. Alan and Joshua talk about Alan's new adult coloring book, Beauty of Horror 6: Famous Monsterpieces. Laundry Days on tour are all the rage. Tony joins the Talk Toomey podcast this week to discuss the story behind creating KnuckleBonz and giving all us metalheads a collectable that is also fine art! Tony recalls growing up in the Washington DC area and going to shows with his dad seeing Queen and others. Tony talks about starting the company with a Randy Rhoads statue and talking with Randy's mother during the process. The guys dive into the backstory on doing the statues for Pantera and how Zakk Wylde was involved in the story. Tony talks about doing everything with the bands and how all the statues are fully licensed.
