Dr. Hanlie Smuts is an associate professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Pretoria since 2017. During her tenure in industry, she delivered consistent customer relevance across all digital touch points by empowering customers through convenient and effective self-service, and by driving growth through personalized digital offerings and adjacent ecosystems. I came to work at Chautauqua in 2004 as the chief executive officer of the Chautauqua Foundation and as the vice president of development for Chautauqua Institution. Sixteen years later, I gave up my role at the Foundation and currently focus on leading the advancement program of the Institution as senior vice president and chief advancement officer.
