About This Episode: Dave Liu is a 30-year veteran of Wall Street and Silicon Valley. He is an advisor, author, entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. After retiring from Wall Street, he started four companies in technology, merchant banking, asset management and media. He is CEO advisor and investor to multiple companies, several of which have reached multi-billion dollar “unicorn” status, including Internet Brands WebMD, MobilityWare, FIGS and Vobile. He’s also involved in the entertainment industry with investments in Stampede and TEG+, and consumer with Philz Coffee and Francesca’s. He has multiple certifications in creative and satirical writing as well as screenwriting. He publishes a career advice column called Breaking Bamboo, and a cartoon series called The ABC Life. He wrote 'The Way of the Wall Street Warrior' to help underrepresented communities achieve their career goals and has pledged 100 percent of the net proceeds from his book to charity. The book sold almost 10,000 copies in the first two weeks of launch and reached the Top 10 Amazon Best Seller list in the business finance category. It ranked as Amazon's No. 1 Hot New Release in two categories: Business Finance, and Economics. About This Episode: Jonathan Goldsmith is an actor who began his career on the New York stage, then started a career in film and television. He appeared in several TV shows from the 1960s to the 1990s. Before becoming the Most Interesting Man in the World, Jonathan worked as a garbage collector, crashed in bug-infested apartments, and snuck into strangers’ bar mitzvahs for free food. He appeared in hundreds of plays, movies, and TV shows, including Dallas, Gunsmoke, and the Clint Eastwood film Hang ’Em High (1968). After he retired from his showbiz career, he found success in a network marketing company for waterless car-wash products – but after his business partnership went bad, he lost it all. About This Episode: Create Your Own Life show started November 20, 2015, and it was all because I wanted to do something as a creative outlet, that after I quitted and failed at Network Marketing, Life Insurance sales and even private labeling.
