Andy and Jesse Simonton debate what this means for the Longhorns and for the Crimson Tide.Is Jalen Milroe the wrong guy at QB for Alabama? Can Texas use this as the catapult to a College Football Playoff run?Meanwhile, Oregon won a wild one at Texas Tech (and gamblers who had Texas Tech +6.5 got crushed).Arizona and Mississippi State went to overtime in Starkville, and the Bulldogs hung on to win.Washington State won a primetime showcase against Wisconsin. The U is -- well, we're not going to go THAT far. But Andy and Jesse discuss a Miami that looked dramatically improved in a win against Texas A&M that was played at a much higher level than the teams' meeting in College Station last year.Jimbo Fisher is going to take heat for this one, but this time it was the defense and not the offense. So it's a different brand of heat.Meanwhile, Notre Dame came back from a lightning delay and hammered N.C. State. The Fighting Irish ran the ball well, they threw the ball well and they forced timely turnovers. This was Notre Dame's first big test, and the Irish passed easily.Ole Miss outlasted a Tulane team playing without star QB Michael Pratt.Iowa beat Iowa State 20-13, meaning Hawkeyes offensive coordinator is six points off the pace to keep his job at the end of the season.Colorado struggled to crack Nebraska's defense early, but the Buffaloes capitalized on three first-half turnovers by Nebraska QB Jeff Sims to take a lead. In the second half, Colorado just broke the Cornhuskers and rolled to a win.Meanwhile, Baylor controlled the game against Utah for three and a half quarters, but the Utes intercepted Sawyer Robertson late in the fourth quarter. (0:00-13:44)Kansas QB Jalon Daniels is expected to play Friday against Illinois after missing the Jayhawks' season opener, which should make that game a great appetizer for a huge Saturday. (13:45-18:26)Next, ESPN's Tom Luginbill joins the show to explain how he expertly navigated a surging crowd after Duke beat Clemson to get to his postgame interview with Mike Elko. Luginbill also took all the heat for a statement on another show last week that Colorado's roster was one of the worst in the FCS. Tom explained what he should have said and broke down what he saw from the Buffaloes against TCU. (18:27-38:11)Sean Callahan of On3's Husker Online joins to talk about the team coming into Boulder to face Coach Prime. Nebraska's defense was excellent against Minnesota, but the offense cost the Cornhuskers a win that they appeared to have sewn up. The Blue Devils, who won nine games in Mike Elko's first season as coach, didn't play the perfect game, but quarterback Riley Leonard and company made plays when they mattered and capitalized on a host of Clemson mistakes.Clemson hasn't made the College Football Playoff since 2020. While the Tigers did regain control of the ACC title last year, they allowed South Carolina to break a long losing streak in the rivalry and got shelled by Notre Dame. Is Dabo Swinney's refusal to use the transfer portal like his peers causing the Tigers to fall behind? It's a Dear Andy episode, so I'm answering your questions. We start off with some news: Kirby Smart responds to Brian Kelly's comments, Jim Harbaugh and his new "we-fense," and changing of the guard for the college football playoff. Then, we check in with Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy to determine which players helped their draft stock in the first weekend of college football. What did Jim think of some of the players who starred for Florida State on Sunday night? Now, your questions. Will Deion Sanders have a press conference this season that surpasses Mike Gundy's "I'm-a-man-I'm-40" rant?Is the Texas defensive line -- specifically the interior group -- the best Alabama will see in the regular season? Can anyone get the Pac-12 Network from the midwest?Does Florida State's win against LSU help the Seminoles' realignment case?Based on what we saw Sunday, should we still assume LSU is the second-best team in the SEC West? Why do so many playcallers -- on offense and defense -- feel the need to get fancy instead of sticking to what works?Tonight's extra point, we take a look at the bands. The band for the Texas Longhorns may not be heard... they'll be in the upper deck in Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday Night. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Coach Prime and Colorado shock the world | North Carolina is still sacking Spencer Rattler | Michael Penix Jr. torches Boise State

Deion Sanders made his Colorado debut at TCU, and what a debut it was. Receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter turned in the best two-way performance in decades and QB Shedeur Sanders threw for 510 yards in a 45-42 win. Michigan crushed East Carolina under interim coach Jesse Minter.Tennessee easily handled Virginia.Oklahoma smoked Arkansas State and got an entire half of experience for Jackson Arnold.Washington's Michael Penix Jr. picked up right where he left off. Last year's FBS passing yardage leader threw for 450 yards and five touchdowns in the Huskies' season-opening win.Meanwhile, Kyle McCord took most of the snaps for Ohio State as the Buckeyes beat Indiana 23-3. Wisconsin opened the Luke Fickell era by running all over Buffalo.Texas tuned up for Alabama by dominating Rice.Plus, some comments from Coach Prime’s postgame press conference.North Carolina's defense was the butt of jokes last season, but it came out strong Saturday. The Tar Heels sacked South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler nine times in a 31-17 win in Charlotte. Meanwhile, UNC QB Drake Maye looked comfortable and in command.Drew Allar didn't play a perfect game in his debut as Penn State's QB1, but he showed why his ceiling is considered so high. Meanwhile, Penn State's defense was solid in a win against West Virginia. In Waco, Texas State stunned Baylor in G.J. Kinne's debut as the Bobcats' head coach.Alabama started Jalen Milroe and played him until the end of the third quarter of a blowout win against Middle Tennessee. It sure seems Milroe will be the guy who starts against Texas. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
