Will Johncock & Kai Whiting | Sociology, The Stoic God & Climate Change

Will Johncock is the author of Stoic Philosophy and Social Theory (Palgrave MacMillan 2020). This book is a comparative study of ancient Stoic philosophy and modern social theory, the primary topic concerning how as individuals we are also socially/communally constituted and directed. His previous book Naturally Late: Synchronization in Socially Constructed Times (Rowman and Littlefield 2019), explores philosophical and sociological distinctions between natural timings and human-constructed timings. Bob Cymber & Dr. Dobbie Herrion | Building Resilience in the Younger Generation with Stoicism

Bob Cymber is a middle school English teacher and co-founder of Behavior Mods in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been practicing Stoicism regularly for about five years. He received his bachelor of arts in philosophy from Webster University and his master of arts in teaching from Fontbonne University. Additionally, he is a published poet and short story writer. Dr. Dobbie Herrion has been an educator for over 20 years and has provided leadership to private, public,and for-profit institutions in higher education in the areas of operations, management, and student development. After earning his Doctorate from Maryville University in St. Louis, Herrion took the position of Executive Director of the East St. Louis Higher Education Center where he oversees campus programming and community development. Dr. Herrion is also the cofounder of Behavior Mods and both practices and teaches stoic principles to students and adults from socioeconomic at-risk and disadvantaged backgrounds. Herrion is the author of several books including Looking over God's Shoulder, Thirsty, and most recently, The Adventures and Trials of Lucilius: On Progress. Dr. Herrion is the recipient of the All-State Give it up for Good award for his nonprofit work in St. Louis. He is a proud father of two and a devoted husband. Rob Simonsen | Creativity & the Philosophy of Music

Composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, artist and co-founder of Los Angeles’ artist collective The Echo Society, Rob Simonsen has contributed to almost a hundred film and television soundtracks in the two decades since he was first asked to provide piano solos to a movie made by high school friends. Having developed a presence in the Portland independent circuit with his first formal commission, Westender (2003), he was invited to assist veteran composer Mychael Danna, and in 2004 relocated to Los Angeles, where he contributed music to Danna’s Academy® Award-winning score for 2012’s Life of Pi, as well as Surf’s Up (2007), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), and Moneyball(2011). He and Danna also co-scored (500) Days of Summer in 2009, helping to establish Simonsen as a sought-after talent in his own right. Since then, Simonsen’s composed music for 2015’s The Age of Adaline – for which he co-wrote the end credits theme – in addition to a slew of other films, including The Spectacular Now (2013), The Foxcatcher (2015), Tully (2018), Love, Simon (2018) and Captive State (2019). In addition, Simonsen launched his solo artist career in 2019 with his debut full-length album, Reveries, for Sony Masterworks. Jeff Bosley | Using Stoicism in Hollywood

Jeff Bosley is a film and television actor with an extensive background and training originating on the stage where he was nominated, and won, many awards and accolades including the 'Theatre Recognition Award', the 'Theatre Service Award' and 2 nominations for 'Best Actor'. During his years in theatre performing on stage Jeff's studies focused on The Meisner Technique. As he transitioned to film & television his education expanded to Stanislavski's 'Method' while studying for nearly 5 years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Conservatory. Jerzy Gregorek | Health, Fitness & Virtue

The Patterns of History with Dr. Joseph Siracusa

Professor Joseph Siracusa was previously Deputy Dean of Global and Language Studies in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Born and raised in Chicago and a long time resident of Australia, Joseph studied at the University of Denver and the University of Vienna and received his PhD at the University of Colorado (Boulder). He has worked at Merrill Lynch in Boston and New York; the University of Queensland; and for three years served as a senior visiting fellow in the Key Centre for Ethics, Law, Justice and Governance at Griffith University. He has authored and co-authored 310 refereed publications including 75 books, monographs and chapters, 115 journal articles/entries and scholarly reviews, and 120 refereed proceedings.
