3679 What If You're Not Number One?
Being married is a challenge in itself. You must wake up every morning ready to say "I do" today. Love is a verb and requires you to choose daily. But what if you're not number one to your spouse? Life has cycles and seasons. Some are good and some are bad. But most are lived without intention unless it's required of you. We put out the fires of others, and the seasons prompt us to shift accordingly. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com Life isn't supposed to be fair, but when it comes to your marriage, most hope they are number one and a priority. However, let's be real. There are those times when you can't be number one. And you've gotta remember that it goes both ways. When life presents challenges and responsibilities, it's easy to lose sight of each other's needs and priorities. Plus,it may not be so much that your spouse doesn't care, but more so the responsibilities in the season. Consider the birth of a new child, building or changing your career, medical diagnoses, extended family situations, and the child's various stages of life. There are many variations of what can become a priority or a necessity to "make it through" difficult circumstances, but that doesn't mean your spouse, or even you, doesn't love you. But in reality, that's just what you feel. And it's important to honor and recognize those feelings; however, don't hang out with them in a manner that can foster bitterness and begin the downward spiral in your marriage. If you find yourself experiencing a lack of priority from your spouse, or maybe you are not prioritizing your spouse, then take a moment to intentionally turn things around. The K.I.S.S. ~ Turn things around! That's what you have to remember: you have a choice to make a decision about how you show up every day in your marriage. If you want to navigate these treacherous waters in your marriage, hang on, because you can turn things around. Here are three actionable steps to help turn things around when you're not feeling like you're number one in your spouse's life: 1. Love Language Exploration: Discover each other's love languages and actively incorporate them into your daily interactions. Whether it's acts of service, quality time, words of affirmation, physical touch, or receiving gifts, understanding and catering to each other's love language can deepen emotional connections and reignite intimacy. The book by Gary Chapman, The Five Love Languages, is a great resource. 2. Adventure Together: Step out of your comfort zone and try new experiences together. Whether it's exploring a new hobby, embarking on a spontaneous road trip, or taking a cooking class, shared adventures can create lasting memories and strengthen the bond between partners. 3. Gratitude Practice: Cultivate a habit of gratitude within your relationship. Take time each day to express appreciation for each other's efforts, qualities, and presence in your life. A gratitude journal, daily affirmations, or simply verbal expressions of thankfulness can foster a sense of mutual respect and admiration. 4. Couples Counseling: Consider seeking the guidance of a professional couples therapist to navigate through challenges and improve communication. Therapy sessions can provide a safe space for both partners to express their feelings, work through conflicts, and gain valuable insights into improving the relationship dynamics. 5. Physical Touch Rituals: Create rituals of physical touch that foster intimacy and connection. Whether it's holding hands during evening walks, cuddling before bed, or sharing regular hugs throughout the day, physical touch can communicate love and support non-verbally, strengthening the emotional bond between partners. 6. Surprise Gestures: Surprise your partner with thoughtful gestures that show your love and appreciation. It could be leaving a heartfelt note in their bag, preparing their favorite meal, or organizing a surprise date night. Small acts of kindness and thoughtfulness can make your partner feel valued and cherished. 7. Shared Goals and Dreams: Align your visions for the future and set shared goals as a couple. Whether it's planning a travel adventure, saving for a common financial goal, or pursuing a joint passion project, working together towards a shared vision can foster a sense of unity and purpose in your relationship. 8. Mindfulness Practice: Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine as a couple. Whether it's meditating together, practicing deep breathing exercises, or simply being present in the moment during shared activities like eating dinner together, mindfulness can enhance emotional awareness, reduce stress, and improve communication within the relationship. Be creative in your marriage by approaching life's challenges in innovative ways. Think outside the box and do what works for you all as a couple and as a family. You can make it through these, what feels like, obtrusive seasons in your marriage, so long as you are intentional, kind, and serve with forgiveness. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #RelationshipBuilders #CreateYourNow #LoveAndMarriage 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3678 There Are No Shortcuts
In life, we think that if we cut through the grass, we'll get to the other side faster. But when it comes to raising kids, there are no shortcuts. You have to be in the long game to get to the other side. Each step, each stumble, each small victory, all contribute to the complex tapestry of nurturing and guiding young minds towards adulthood. You want them to be productive adults ready to impact the world they touch. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com In the face of societal pressures and the looming presence of technology, the challenges facing today's parents seem more daunting than ever before. You're exhausted before your feet even hit the floor. However, embracing the ethos of the long game and deliberately avoiding the allure of quick fixes is key to cultivating resilient, confident children. Stick to the long game. The K.I.S.S. ~ Stick to the long game! Not sure if you know, but Round 1 of the NFL Draft was last night. Did you know that the kids who play high school football, only .023% make it to the NFL. Of college players, only 1.6% make it. It's a sliver of a sliver of a sliver. If you want to play in the NFL, there are no shortcuts, and same goes for parenting. It's a marathon and you have to be willing to run it day after day. There are no guarantees of success, but by staying committed to the long game, you are laying the groundwork for your kids' future success and well-being. Here are three essential strategies to help parents stay the course and resist the temptation of rushing through the moments of growth and understanding: 1. Embrace Learning Moments: Just like a football player doesn't become a star overnight, children need time to develop and grow. Every mistake, every failure, and every triumph is a valuable learning opportunity. Encourage curiosity, exploration, and resilience in your children, knowing that these experiences are shaping their character and providing them with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges. 2. Nurture Consistency: Consistency is the cornerstone of effective parenting. Setting clear boundaries, enforcing rules, and offering a predictable routine can provide children with a sense of security and stability. By being consistent in your actions and expectations, you are building a foundation of trust and reliability that will carry your children through the ups and downs of life. 3. Celebrate Progress, Not Perfection: In a world where perfection is often glorified, it's important to remember that progress, no matter how small, is worth celebrating. Parenting is a journey filled with ebbs and flows, and it's essential to acknowledge and appreciate the incremental steps forward. By focusing on the growth and development of your children, rather than fixating on the end goal, you can instill in them a sense of resilience and determination that will serve them well in the long run. Remember, there are no shortcuts when it comes to raising kids, but the rewards of patience, perseverance, and love are immeasurable. That's what you want for your family! "Be present. Be incredible. 3677 Stillness Is Strength
Everyone needs a moment where they have permission to slow down in order to speed up. Our lives are consumed by busyness, and much is missed every day because of our lack of presence. Stillness is strength. We live in a world that glorifies busyness and constant movement; the concept of stillness is often overlooked. Living in a society where being busy is worn as a badge of honor and taking a moment to pause and breathe is seen as a luxury, it's vital to pay attention to what is really missing. We fail to realize that in the midst of our chaos, it is in stillness that true strength is found. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com The relentless pursuit of productivity and achievement has left many feeling burnt out and disconnected from what truly matters. We rush through our days, ticking off tasks on never-ending to-do lists, without stopping to smell the roses and appreciate the beauty of the present. But what if you shifted your perspective and embraced the power of stillness? What if you allowed yourself the grace to slow down, to be fully present in each moment, and to savor the simple joys of life? The K.I.S.S. ~ Stillness is strength! Stillness is not a sign of laziness or weakness, as some may believe. On the contrary, stillness is a source of immense power and resilience. It is in the moments of silence and reflection that we find clarity, creativity, and connectivity; it's peaceful inspiration. And in these moments of stillness, you recharge your mind, body, and spirit, enabling you to show up as your best selfie in everything you do. So, next time you feel overwhelmed by the demands of life, give yourself permission to pause. Take a deep breath, feel the ground beneath your feet, and reconnect with the present moment. Allow yourself the gift of stillness, and witness how it transforms your perspective, your productivity, and your overall well-being. Think about sitting on a park bench and taking it all in. Beauty and rest require your attention! Life is too precious to be lived in a constant state of frenzy. Stillness is strength! "Be present. Be incredible. 3676 Keep It Sweet
Living a healthy lifestyle is often associated with restrictions, rules, and sacrifices, but it doesn't have to be that way. When your days are full of stress, self-doubt, and overwhelm, keep it sweet. It's essential to shift the focus from what you can't have to what you can do. Healthy living can be simple and sweet if approached with the right mindset. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com Unfortunately, we don't always have the luxury of simple and sweet. We complicate everything. In my opinion, we are so busy that we can't see what's happening when it's happening, and we don't know how to slow down to speed up. We just keep running a crazy life like the Energizer Bunny™️. How is that living? Maybe you're actually living a slow death instead of a vibrant life. Let's get real to make a change! You can't play small when you want to change it all! At some point, you have to admit the real struggles you face when trying to live a healthy life. Hiding behind your excuses only puts you deeper in the dark dungeon of bad habits. You might be experiencing stuff like: 1. Overwhelming Information: The abundance of health advice, diet trends, health trackers, fitness routines, and even ChatGPT can lead to confusion and decision fatigue. What do you do? 2. Social Pressures: Navigating social gatherings, peer influences, and societal norms that may not align with your health goals. 3. Time Constraints: Balancing work, family, and personal commitments can make it challenging to prioritize healthy habits and self-care. Eventually, time and money can't be your go-to!! You've gotta bury the hatchet of excuses and rise up for what is possible. The K.I.S.S. ~ Keep it sweet and simple! Keep it sweet— it makes it doable. No more hardcore restrictions to hold you back. Instead, do what you can because you can. And keep it sweet and simple. 1. Focus on Seasonal REAL Foods: Instead of fixating on restrictions and counting calories, prioritize nourishing your body with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Opt for colorful fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and lean proteins that add to your muscle mass, not your fat _**. Keep your meals simple yet flavorful by experimenting with herbs, spices, and wholesome ingredients. Flavor and presentation is everything. Become your 5-star restaurant that favors your body's health. 2. Move Your Body Joyfully: Physical activity doesn't have to feel like a chore. Find activities that bring you joy, whether it's dancing, hiking, yoga, or simply taking a walk in nature. Incorporate movement into your daily routine in a way that feels sustainable and enjoyable, rather than forcing yourself into rigorous workouts that drain your energy. What brings your heartbeat to life? 3. Practice Presence: Manage stress and overwhelm by being present in your everyday. Don't jump to conclusion before the outcome occurs. Incorporating mindfulness practices like taking moments to pause, breathe, and check in with yourself. Truly, feel your heart beat. Prioritize adequate sleep, hydration, and self-care activities that rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. When you lead with gratitude, compassion, and grace, it opens your heart to connect with your head, accepting what is and doing what you can control. Remember, healthy living is not about perfection but progress. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!" ~ Kristianne Wargo When you keep it sweet, you get to create your now! "Be present. The endless scroll of social media feeds and the pressure to keep up with the Joneses can make it challenging to focus on our own desires for change. Time to rock your block! It's in these private spaces where true transformation can take place, away from the distractions and expectations of the outside world. When you shift your focus inward and start making positive changes within your own block, something magical happens. Your confidence begins to stem from your own successes and efforts, rather than comparing yourself to others especially their failures. It's a liberating feeling to realize that your journey is unique and worthy of celebration, irrespective of what anyone else is doing. The K.I.S.S. ~ Rock your block! Embracing change within your block is not just about physical transformations; it's about mindset shifts and personal growth. By taking ownership of your space and making it a reflection of your values and dreams, you create a powerful foundation for continued self-improvement, the growth you've been searching for. 3674 When the Lie is No Longer the Truth
Do you find yourself stuck in a rut, going through the motions day in and day out, all the while believing in a reality you've created for yourself? It's a common trap to fall into, but what happens when the lie is no longer the truth? This is the moment where the transformation meets opportunity. You get a chance to change your life with the choice you make. And that makes room for you to create your now. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com Living life on autopilot can lead to a sense of stagnation and dissatisfaction. If you wake up every day doing the same things and expecting different results, something must change. It may be time to shake things up and make a conscious effort to change your mindset and course of action. If you keep believing the lie you tell yourself, it will become the truth. Our perceived reality has a way of confusing our minds, making us think we are doing what we should be. Well, think again. What reality are you living in— the truth or the lies you keep telling yourself? Remember, if you continue to believe the lies you tell yourself, they will eventually become your reality. It's essential to differentiate between the truth and the stories you've woven to break free from the cycle of limiting beliefs and embrace a new, empowering story for your life. You get to write your story every day and create your now! The K.I.S.S. ~ Write your story! Here are three key steps to help you break free from the cycle of complacency and embrace a new reality: 1. Challenge What You See: Take a critical look at the stories you tell yourself, what you believe, and question whether they are serving your best interests. Identify any limiting beliefs that may be holding you back and replace them with empowering thoughts that align with your goals and aspirations. Be specific in what you want. In other words, stop beating around the bush. Be a true truthteller! 2. Step Out of the Norm: Growth and transformation often occur outside of your comfort zone. You have permission to be abnormal! Embrace new experiences, take risks, and try things that scare you. By pushing past your self-imposed boundaries and your own limitations where you say you can't do something, that's when you open yourself up to a world of possibilities and opportunities for growth. 3. Set Clear Goals and Take A.I.M.: Define what you want to achieve and create a daily roadmap to get there. Break down your goals into daily bite-sized steps and take consistent action towards them. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!" ~ Kristianne Wargo Celebrate small wins along the way and stay focused on your vision for the future. and what God has divinely planned for you! Challenge yourself to live authentically, embrace change, and strive for a reality that aligns with your true desires and aspirations, the heart palpitation moments. The moment you dare to question the lies you've accepted as truth is the moment you pave the way for a transformation that can lead to a fulfilling and purpose-driven life. Go and create your now! 3673 This. Changes. Everything.
In the midst of life's trials and tribulations, Easter offers a welcome respite from our everyday routines, reminding us that Jesus has risen. He is risen, He is risen indeed. This. Changes. Everything. This brings hope and renewal to all who believe and to those who question. When Jesus was on the cross, He was not alone. He bore the weight of the world's sins, offering redemption and salvation to all who seek Him. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com Scripture tells us in Matthew 28:6, "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." This verse encapsulates the transformative power of Easter, showing that even in the face of death, there is resurrection and new life. Just as Jesus triumphed over the grave because of the Divine plan, we too can overcome our struggles and emerge stronger than before. You are not your sins. And that's why— This. Changes. Everything. The K.I.S.S. ~ This. Changes. Everything! In times of uncertainty and despair, it can be easy to lose sight of God's plan for us. However, Romans 8:28 reminds us that "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." We don't always see what God is doing in the meantime, but God's meantime is better than our darkest corner moment. The enemy may tempt us with doubt, fear, and despair, but we can take comfort in the promise of God's redemption. 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." "Satan's temptations are never greater than God's redemption." ~ Kristianne Wargo Today, as we reflect on the significance of Easter, we have the opportunity to choose the direction of our lives. Whether we are facing challenges or celebrating victories, the resurrection of Jesus reminds us that this. changes. everything. Let us walk in faith, hope, and love, knowing that we are never alone on this journey of life. God never left Jesus alone on the cross. He was there at the end, and He was there at the beginning. 3672 The Fresh and New Has Come
With Easter and Spring, what a great time to be reminded that marriages don't have to feel old and worn out. You can have a vibrant marriage because the fresh and new has come. We take a lot for granted. We think tomorrow will be here and we'll do it then. But tomorrow is not guaranteed. With Easter tomorrow, it brought to my attention how we need to love each other like God loved His Son and loves us! But we don't have time for that either. Or do we? I think we make time for what matters. They say if you were to look at your monthly bank statement, it would tell you exactly what you prioritize. For me, maybe food. I'm just joking. But seriously, how are you spending your time, money, energy, and emotions with your spouse? Are you creating a bond that is inseparable? Looking at Easter with Good Friday yesterday, God loved His Son through the end and through the beginning. That love endured throughout sunrises and sunsets. But what about your love for your spouse? We don't necessarily punish our spouses in the manner that Jesus took on our sins, but to a degree, we hold grudges and keep score as if they should be punished. At what point do you say, "I need to love the way God first loved me?" Because that changes everything!! The K.I.S.S. ~ Love changes everything! And it's not about love in the manner of what the world says, but how God shows us. Unconditional love needs to be the root of our marriage. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." How are you loving your spouse? Love changes everything! And it did the night that Jesus was crucified for you and me. Thankfully, Jesus rose on the third day in which we celebrate as Easter! Love changes everything. How can you take what God has proven to be true love and establish that in your marriage? 1. Practice Forgiveness Daily: Let go of past grievances and embrace a spirit of forgiveness towards your partner. Just as God forgave us through Christ, extend grace and mercy to your spouse, fostering a sense of healing and reconciliation in your relationship. Ephesians 4:32 - "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." 2. Cultivate Kindness and Patience: Channel the love described in Corinthians by choosing to show kindness and patience in your interactions with your spouse. Small acts of kindness and understanding can go a long way in strengthening the bond between you and your partner. 3. Prioritize Quality Time: Make intentional efforts to talk openly and honestly with your spouse, creating a space for shared experiences and heartfelt conversations. That comes with quality time. Dedicate quality time to nurture your connection and deepen your understanding of each other's needs and desires. You get the opportunity to show your love as Christ loved you first. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #RelationshipBuilders #CreateYourNow #LoveAndMarriage 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3671 From Confession to Connection
Parents don't like being mean, but it is our responsibility to train up our children where they are to go. Therefore, as a parent, how do you walk the fine line from confession to connection? Because one of the toughest things we must do is bridge that gap. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com We need to find the happy medium that allows our children to face the truth in their lives so they can grow and be transformed into who they are becoming. And that takes work! It's not something you just wake up to with all the tools in your toolbox and can renovate accordingly. It takes conversation after conversation after timeout after grounding after taking away the tablet or phone. This is not a quick fix "I got it" mom job!! This goes on and on and on. It never ends. You know with today being Good Friday, I can't help but think about Jesus and His conversation with God the Father. Jesus expressed the concept of doing what He desired versus what His Father in Heaven desired. In Matthew 26:39, Jesus prays, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." This verse highlights the internal conflict Jesus faced, ultimately choosing to align His will with that of His Father, demonstrating obedience, sacrifice, and love. Jesus concludes in Matthew 26:42— He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." Jesus came back to His disciples and found them sleeping again. He left for the third time and after returning, told His disciples that "the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners." (Matthew 26:45) Yet Jesus knew the outcome. God the Father prepared Him for such a time as this. And whether or not we want to believe it, this was real to Jesus. He felt the pain and the agony of what was to come. Our children need to understand that there are consequences to what they do, good or bad, and they need to be ready to accept them accordingly. But that training comes from us as their parents. We have to model the way God the Father modeled to God the Son (the Son of Man). Otherwise, our children will miss the boat. So we must sacrifice comfort for the betterment of our children. The K.I.S.S. ~ Sacrifice comfort! Sacrificing comfort is more for us than for them. We have to do the hard stuff so they can live and impact with greater simplicity. Teaching them right from wrong every day keeps our children grounded. To bridge the gap from confession to connection with their children, parents can incorporate the following practices: 1. Practice Forgiveness: Just as Jesus forgave those who wronged Him, parents can embody forgiveness when their children make mistakes. By showing forgiveness, parents not only relieve their children of guilt but also pave the way for a deeper connection based on understanding and grace. 2. Offer Guidance with Love: Jesus's teachings were filled with love and compassion, even when delivering guidance or discipline. Parents can emulate this approach by providing constructive feedback and setting boundaries out of love, rather than out of anger or frustration. By offering guidance with empathy and understanding, parents can strengthen the bond with their children. 3. Foster Open Communication: Like the relationship between Jesus and His Father, parents and children can nurture their connection through open communication. Encouraging honest dialogues, active listening, and mutual respect creates a safe space for children to seek guidance, share their struggles, and grow through their mistakes. The key is to build a foundation of trust and communication that enables parents to support their children's journey from confession to connection. What you are creating is the sacred space! Navigating the complexities of parenting requires a delicate harmony of discipline, forgiveness, and love. Drawing inspiration from the sacrificial love exemplified on Good Friday and the teachings of Jesus, parents can guide their children through their mistakes with empathy, understanding, and grace. By embracing forgiveness, offering loving guidance, and fostering open communication, parents can move from moments of confession to deeper connections with their children, embodying the enduring bond of love and redemption.
