96: How To SUCCEED No Matter WHERE YOU BEGIN with Sean O'Shea

World-renowned dog trainer, teacher and author, Sean O'Shea, struggled for the first 40 years of his life. Between a dysfunctional family, learning disabilities and a directionless, toxic music career, he knew this lifestyle wasn't working for him. While this often is the point where a person gives up, thinking they've screwed things up forever, Sean did the opposite. Knowing he didn't have the luxury of time, he dived head-first into self-development and hit it hard – absorbing everything he could to bring new skillsets on board (often 4.5 hours of reading and watching videos a day). And it all was spurred by the mind shift happened after he adopted a couple of dogs in his 30s. At the time, knowing nothing about how to raise dogs, he admittedly messed them up. But upon realizing this, he made a promise that he would help them get in a better place – and he did. Shortly after Sean transformed his dogs' behavior, people began to notice. Starting out with a dog-walking service that became wildly popular, his business grew and shifted into The Good Dog Training. (So grateful as he trained my brother's dog, Ozzie, and turned him into a gentleman of a dog.) Sean's comeback story is incredible and he wants everyone to know that you don't have to be perfect to be successful. You can come from any background, screw up colossally and still find success – if you do the work. Be sure to listen in to the full episode to find out how he turned his profound struggle into a successful life and business – and now a new book! There are countless valuable takeaways from our conversation! -- Question Highlights: Describe one of your lowest moments. What role has self-development specifically played in your success? What do you mean when you say that "you don't have to come to the table with the skills, you just have to want the skills really, really bad?" Tell us about your book. Who's your book for? What's the best lesson in your book? Where did your generosity come from? In This Episode We Talk about: How Sean overcame profound struggles to become the success he is today How adopting dogs made a pivotal change in his life What role self-development has played in Sean's life The power of influence and the importance of surrounding yourself continuously with great influencers The influence Jim Rohn has had on Sean's success Creating resources to do more good Importance of finding what resonates with you His new book, Closing the Gap and the fact that he's donating all of its proceeds Learning skills and becoming the master of them Where Sean's generosity comes from And so much more… Sean's Thoughts… "You don't have to come to the table with the skills; you just have to want the skills really, really bad." "You start from influences that plant the thoughts and then you can start to build everything else." "Drive will reveal the path." "Being the equal of what you want is critical." "You don't have to be filthy rich to give back." "Money combined with contribution is where the magic is." "Money facilitates what you want to do." -- Sean O'Shea is a world-renowned dog trainer, teacher, and author. He is most known for his rehabilitation work with extremely challenging dogs. He runs two successful training locations, one in Los Angeles and the other in New Orleans. He's released two highly acclaimed training DVDs, an industry-changing training book, he co-teaches the internationally lauded Train the Trainers seminar, and most recently, he released his first book devoted to personal development. 95: Four BUSINESS LESSONS from my Mastermind Group

This past weekend, I hosted my first business mastermind and honestly, I'm still on a high from the epic breakthroughs and experiences that were had. There are 24 people in this year's group, but a mastermind can be as small as three to five people too. As a refresher, a mastermind is when a group of people, who have similar goals, come together to lift each other's businesses up so there are several people working on a business – not just one person. I observed so many similar trends within the group and instantly knew I wanted to share a few with you. Most people know how to get where they want to go, but they're holding themselves back because of fears and stories they tell themselves that aren't true. The takeaway? "You're closer than you think to your goals – you just have a mental block." The power of collaboration. I was blown away at the breakthroughs that were happening left and right. And I credit it to the group brainstorming and talking about things as a collective. Just think what you could come up with in a group of like-minded people! It's not all business– it's a mix of business and pleasure. I noticed that the most breakthroughs happened when people let loose at the restaurant. There was a noticeable difference when people were more open and decided to have more fun with it. There's always a way to hit your goals. When you're around a group of new people who are able to be completely objective, they're able to see the things you can't or aren't willing to see. Masterminds are way to remind that you don't have to do it alone – someone can help you! And this isn't just limited to masterminds. Whatever situation you're in, and I cannot stress this enough, ASK for help! Let me know if you agree with any of the above or if you plan to incorporate parts of them into your life and business. They may further boost you onto the fast track for success. In This Episode We Talk about: What a mastermind is Mixing business and pleasure The power of collaboration Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

94: Becoming Extremely Wealthy with Grant Cardone

I'm so honored to have the one and only, Grant Cardone, as a guest today as he's inspired me for the last 20 years of my life. Sounds crazy, but after dropping out of college and getting into the car business, I was selected to hear him speak at an event about sales. It was game-changing for me because it made me realize I wanted to do more than sell cars – I wanted to be the person on the stage. Fast forward to the present and I've had the privilege of speaking on stage and have Grant to thank for it. As an international sales expert and NY Times Best-Selling Author, I'm in awe of Grant's no-nonsense approach to both life and wealth/business. Whether he succeeds or makes mistakes, he equally owns both 100%. But Grant wasn't always a wealthy sales mastermind. From his late teens to early 20s, he was self-admittedly selfish. After a brief stint in rehab, he made the choice do something about the disappointment he felt and turned it around. Since that time, Grant never settles for what he has and strives to do better and better so he can be around 200-300 years after he's gone through his books and courses. His goal and passion are to help others grow their wealth and make their lives easier. With the packed house his upcoming 10X Growth Conference promises, I'd say he's doing just that. Don't miss this inspirational, but brutally honest conversation with Grant. I can almost guarantee that it will make you want to do more when it comes to taking action to increase your wealth – and your giving. -- Question Highlights: You don't always have to like what you're doing, but it can still be good for you and put you on your path – can you expand on this idea? Where does your drive to be great in all areas come from? Do you still feel disappointed in yourself after all you've accomplished? Why should each of us become as wealthy as possible? Why do people struggle with having a strong money mindset? What's the best way to make money today and how does it relate to Cardone Capital? When did you decide to stop letting other people's opinions matter? Who do you study? Who motivates you? Is it easier to invest in someone else's fund or would you rather do it on your own and make mistakes? What will people learn at the 10X Growth Conference? Who is the event for? How has generosity impacted your success? In This Episode We Talk about: Why more people should be dissatisfied with their lives Getting great in the space you're in until you can movie into the next level What it means to have a scarcity mindset Why so many are mis-educated about money The importance of a second or third stream of income When Grant decided to value his time more than his money How and why we need to continue the cycle of action and giving And so much more… Grant's Thoughts… "I wanna be the guy on stage and working for the world." "We're never playing above our game." "If you don't love money, you're never going to get it." "I'm certain about my mistakes and I'm certain about my successes." "We should be inspired by people's successes – not hate on them." -- CEO of 5 privately held companies with annual revenues of over $100 Million Real Estate Investor with a portfolio of over 4,000 units. 93: How to Handle ENTREPRENEURIAL STRESS

This is a huge topic that plagues everybody – or at least it seems to anyway. Whether we're stressed about our business not having any traction or we're stressed about all the work that comes with a business with traction, stress doesn't discriminate. That's just real life, right? Not so fast… While I'm not denying the existence of all stress, I do question how much of the stress we have is really B.S. I venture to say that roughly 90 percent of the stress we have is literally made up in our heads. What if we reframe this idea? "You're not stressed, you're blessed." Would you rather have the alternative to your stress? Typically, that answer would be no. Think about it, a broke and struggling person would love the stress that your success brings upon them. When entrepreneurs are stressed it's because we chose that stress. We had a series of choices that we said yes or no to. We have the control and power to either change it or appreciate it. I choose the latter. "We're not actually busy, we're busy in our head." How often do you get stressed thinking about all of your future appointments or project deadlines? I know it's tough, but STOP living in the future! Get present. The things you worry about in your head will likely never happen. Seriously, 95% of the stuff we stress about NEVER happens. One more tip, make sure you're not mislabeling your stress or nervousness as excitement. They're very similar feelings, so when you catch yourself doing that, quickly reframe it. The sooner you learn to stop creating fake stress, the better you can manage your business and life. Make sure you're leaning into the stress, don't fear it. I firmly believe that "a little stress is a prerequisite for success." Just remember to keep stepping through the stress, not back. In This Episode We Talk about: Reframing the "stress" in your life Differentiating between stress and excitement How being present can help you avoid feelings of stress Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

92: The Bachelor's Ben Higgins Teachus Us GENEROSITY

Most widely known for his roles on ABC's The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, you will soon realize that my guest, Ben Higgins, is more than just a reality TV star. After his time on The Bachelor, he used that platform to help others and create a dynamic business model in the process. And it all began with his friend's non-profit organization called Humanity and Hope United. Believing whole-heartedly in this organization's mission to assist underserved villages in remote parts of Honduras, Ben wanted to ensure the longevity and success of it. And that's when they got the idea to create a for profit business with the purpose of supporting a non-profit. This business model is pure genius and he predicts that it's only the beginning for other future businesses. I cannot wait for you to hear Ben's story and how he seems to embody all things generosity. It's no surprise that relating, connecting and being generous with people are so important to him. From his business model to his blog and podcast, Ben gets super transparent in an attempt to let people know that at the heart we're all the same and that we all have a passion to share with the world. Don't be surprised if this episode blows your mind and likely gives you a nudge to give back more, too. -- Question Highlights: What was life like before The Bachelor vs. after? Growing up, what did you think you'd be doing as an adult? Was your new-found fame easier to deal with because of your desire to work with people? How did you learn to cope with trolls and negative comments that came with your fame? Do you feel you have a responsibility to use your influence for good or is it a choice? How does your podcast give back? How have your parents dealt with your fam? What makes for a successful blog? What is one of the toughest parts of running a non-profit business? In This Episode We Talk about: The unexpected and difficult growth that happened during Ben's time on The Bachelor Dealing with sudden fame The power in knowing that you can't please everyone Why it's important to always be aware of what your intentions are The common desire that everyone wants to be loved and not be alone The importance of authenticity in a blog How Ben used The Bachelor platform to create Generous International How Generous International was founded Why Generous Coffee can compete with big brands like Starbucks Why future businesses will need a social cause tied to them How Generous International works with Humanity and Hope United to develop communities and make sustainable change in the world Why the non-profit world needs your passion And so much more… Ben's Thoughts… "Stay open to the criticism, but also be confident enough to know that you may have to reject it sometimes because you know what your intentions are." "You can live life simple. It doesn't have to be hard." "When much is given, much is expected." "Profit is sacred." "The more profit we make, the bigger the long-term impact." "From start to finish, we want to be generous." "When we are loving on others and building relationships, life makes more sense." "No one should be apologetic about wanting to live a great story." -- Ben Higgins is from Winona Lake, IN but currently calls Denver, CO home. People may know Ben best from his time on season 20 of ABC's "The Bachelor." The Bachelor has allowed Ben an enhanced platform to share what he is most passionate about which is his faith, his hope for humanity, and his love for sports. Today Ben, along with some of his closest friends, started a few new projects that take up his free time. The projects include the Mahogany Workplace blog, which allows people to talk about life exactly how it is: a series of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, pain and triumph; a for-profit company called Generous International; a podcast with IHeart Media called "Almost Famous" with co-host friend and former Bachelor contestant Ashley I.; and a board seat with the nonprofit organization Humanity and Hope United. -- Resources: Humanity and Hope United http://Humanityandhopeunited.org Generous International/Generous Coffee http://Generousmovement.org Mahogany Workplace Blog http://Mahoganyworkplace.com Almost Famous Podcast https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ben-and-ashley-i-almost-famous-podcast/id1238355247?mt=2 IG: @higgins.ben Twitter: @benhiggi -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

91: Your "RICH" Will Be Different

My Two Cents today is based on a conversation I had the other day with a buddy of mine. To sum it up, we discussed how when spending time with a friend (someone who has crushed it in business), there are times when you walk away from it questioning their actions or how they treated others, ultimately fearing that you too will become a certain way when you reach their level. It's only natural to reflect on their behavior, but I'm here to tell you that you need to stop. "Your rich is not their rich." Money doesn't change people, but it can magnify who you already are. For example, if you're kind to everybody, treat others with respect and genuinely have a genuine desire to help people, when you become more successful, you're going to do more of that. The same thing is true if you feel entitled, disrespect others and only care about yourself – it will magnify that too. Don't worry about what's coming up next – no matter where you are. Stay true to who YOU are. "Root down in who you really are and who you've been up that point, and live in your truth." If you're living in your truth you can get out and pursue wealth without fear of what it will look like to others. And as I eluded to above, if you're not caught up in the wrong crowd and you don't have hurtful thoughts now, you're not likely to have a problem down the road when success is knocking at your door. But I get that fears will naturally arise. And when they do, I want you to stop, acknowledge it and reframe it. Remind yourself (picture it too) how you'll feel and what you'll do when that next level comes. "It's not the destination that changes you, it's the person taking the journey to the destination that can cause that." If you love you, with more wealth and success, you'll only love yourself more. So get out there without fear and do great things! In This Episode You Will Learn: That money only magnifies who you are now Why it's important to get rooted in your truth How to confront and reframe fears about making more money Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

89: Three Important Lessons I've Learned from These Billionaires

Some of you may know that some of my favorite books are actual biographies – most specifically of billionaires. I've learned so much by reading about their actual experiences – the wins and fails – and today, I'm going to share my top three lessons I've learned from billionaires Warren Buffett, Elon Musk and Richard Branson. Lesson No. 1 – In order to get some of your time back and get more done, give yourself permission to say NO to more things. "The difference between successful people and really successful people is that the really successful people say no to almost everything." – Warren Buffett Time is our most valuable asset and it should be invested in the same fashion. "Invest your time in all the right places." By saying no, you're gaining back both time and energy, and you're able to get laser focused on the areas that need it. Even if it's gaining back one hour a day, that's getting back just over 15 days in one year! Just think of what you could do with that time with your family and friends. Lesson No. 2 – Go all in! "No matter what you've done in the past, you've got to check your ego at the door and be willing to ask for help." Elon Musk is the perfect example of this as he is so passionate about his dreams/businesses. So much so that he nearly went broke multiple times trying to achieve them. Needless to say, he now has billion-dollar companies and is himself a billionaire. Lesson No. 3 – Make an impact while living a fun and well-rounded life. "A life worth living is a life full of well-rounded memories and impact." Make it a rich, fulfilling and meaningful life without apologizing. Don't make it a life about just your family… or just your business… or just your adventures… Do it all, because how you do anything is how you do everything. These are three of the lessons I tap into when focusing on how I want to live my life. And no matter how you define success, I'm guessing these three billionaires will pass the test. After all, in my opinion they're all living my motto: "When good people make good money, they do great things." In This Episode You Will Learn: How billionaires Warren Buffet, Elon Musk and Richard Branson have influenced my life and businesses Why saying no to more things is so valuable The importance of going all in Why we should strive to live a well-rounded life with impact Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

88: Our Plans for Success in 2018 with Lori Harder

My wife, Lori, is back for another dual podcast! Both of us have been lit over here since ringing in the New Year and we wanted to share some of our thoughts out loud regarding some of the things we've been working on going into 2018 (hint: new eCourse coming in the next couple months). First and foremost, we've both done a lot of reassessing and have gotten really clear and laser-focused on what we want to see and do this year – individually and as a couple – both in business and in play. Find out what we're working to get rid of and what we're working to align ourselves with more – some things may surprise you! We're putting it all about there in this super candid conversation – you don't want to miss it! -- Question Highlights: What was something you loved that we did on New Year's Eve? What is something you do to get clear on your goals/intentions? What are your mindset blocks? What is one of the rituals that you're committed to? What are your favorite ways to find tribe? How do you find the energy to keep up with your habits/rituals and how do you stay in the energy to keep doing it? Why should people be unapologetic about their pursuit of wealth and success? In This Episode We Talk about: Our rituals, how we set goals and how we figure out what the next step will be Getting clear Finding and following the things that light you up Releasing judgment Aligning beliefs with intentions Preventing negative thoughts from taking root and nurturing positive thoughts Chris and Lori's rituals The importance of boundaries to avoid resentment Finding a tribe that helps you think bigger or reinforce positive thoughts Making tiny adjustments one at a time in order to tackle bigger challenges Why play is such a big deal And so much more… Chris and Lori's Thoughts… "Clarity is power." "It's simple, but it's not easy." "Focus on the impact you're going to make. Anything else robs you of your happiness and the world of your gifts." "We don't find our voice in the easy times." "Create tribe for transition." "Elevate yourself through the things you enjoy most, which in turn then elevates other people." "If it brings you happiness and joy – follow it." "Choose possibilities and expansion over fear." "Make choices, not excuses." "Your version of happy is just that." -- Resources: Website: http://www.fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind IG: @chriswharder http://www.theBlissproject.info http://Loriharder.com -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

87: Bust Through This Limiting Belief Once and for All

Today's episode is all about busting through a limiting belief that you may not even know you have. In fact, this very belief may even be holding you back from greater success. Here it is… So many people think that we're supposed to feel good ALL the time on the quest of entrepreneurship. OK, I'm not saying I want you to feel crappy about it, but here are my thoughts on it. The journey of entrepreneurship isn't supposed to feel good. I know it sounds crazy, but full honesty, a large portion of the time we don't know what we're doing, it feels clunky or awkward and we fail a ton! But unfortunately, we all live in the era of social media where we all see everyone's highlight reels. I'm all for this, because I feel like I'm pretty happy most of the time, but I also know that I feel frustrated, under-motivated or have a ton of work to get done – and I try to share that with my followers as well. "The wins are not the entire picture of reality." I feel it is so important to understand the full circle of entrepreneurship – the ups, downs and in-betweens. The problem is that we've all been conditioned to think that when we mess up or haven't gotten it all figured out we think we're doing it wrong. Hint… You're NOT! Reality check. Think of the person you love to follow on IG. If you think they have X followers, now cut that in half to get the real number. Don't get discouraged! You're figuring it out just like the rest of us. Go into things without abandon and try new things without fear of failure. "If you're not failing at all, you're probably doing it wrong." Let's go into 2018 by getting real and sharing all side of entrepreneurship. Use this mantra as a reminder! "It's OK to be silly, to feel silly and look silly." In This Episode You Will Learn: Why feeling good all the time about entrepreneurship isn't necessarily a guarantee for success What the reality of entrepreneurship really looks like Why we've been conditioned to think we're doing it wrong.
