When is it Time to Hire a COO
In the early days of starting a business, most business owners find they have to be involved in all the big and small decisions. As you start adding team members to your payroll, you may reach a tipping point that necessitates bringing on a COO. In this episode, Stephanie Skryzowski discusses when she realized that it was time to hire a senior leader in her business. Handing over the reins may seem a little scary, but if your team feels overloaded by the growth of your company, it’s time! I needed somebody who was both a strategic thinker who could sort of help me sit with me at 30,000 feet and see the big picture, but also somebody very tactical that would know how to create a project plan and how to put all of the wheels into motion and support the team to actually get things done. - Stephanie Srkyzowski Key takeaways mentioned in this episode: How to recognize when team growth exceeds your ability to manage the team well When to take stock of unfinished projects - no one to handle them, no capacity for taking on something new Knowing when you need a senior team member to handle strategy/2nd in command How to: come up with a title, understand the impact on the budget/bottom line Links mentioned in this episode: Connect with Stephanie on Instagram The Profit Playbook The Finance Pro Quiz Want more of the podcast? Investing In Your Business
In this podcast episode, Stephanie Skryzowski talks to us about the importance of investing in our businesses. Most of us need to spend money to make money, but how do we know what we need to buy or which programs to invest in? With so many options at our fingertips, it can be hard to sort through the noise and figure out where to focus both our time AND money. Pulling from experience gained over the years and wise words from past podcast guests, Stephanie narrows down four important steps to take. If you often feel pulled in a hundred different directions while building your business, you’ll want to grab a pen and paper and tune in! Keep it simple. We don't need to do all the new things because that new thing looks really fun. We need to keep doing more of what's working. So you first need to understand the return on investment on different things that you're doing right now and cut out what is not generating a return and add in more of whatever is generating a return. - Stephanie Skryzowski Stephanie’s Top 4 Tips: Spend money strategically by keeping it simple, and understanding what's working in your business Go all in on one thing at a time Think about your future self as a business owner Invest in the foundation of your business Links Mentioned in this episode: Episode 13: Behind the Scenes of How I Spend Money in my Business Episode 68: How to Protect your Business Rights with Sarah Waldbuesser Destination Legal WANT MORE OF THE 100 DEGREES OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP PODCAST?
