Welcome to this special episode of our podcast! In this episode, we'll share a recent TED Talk-style presentation I gave at the ROI Millionaire Summit in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Here's what you can expect:   Overcoming fear and gaining confidence: I discuss my journey of overcoming fear and building confidence in public speaking. I share how I started off terrified of speaking in front of people and gradually gained confidence over time by putting myself on stages and pushing my boundaries.   The challenge of crafting a compelling story: I reveal the process I went through to create an engaging and impactful talk that would connect with the audience on a deeper level. I had to change my approach from an informational talk to a story-driven one that conveyed a bigger idea.   The importance of practice: Throughout the episode, I emphasize the value of practice in building confidence and honing your skills. Today's podcast walks us through Stephanie Skryowski's top four pieces of advice on what to do in January with your money. It's the perfect time of year to start fresh and really get a handle on what you can do to make your finances feel more manageable, less overwhelming and more within your control. Get ready for an informative episode that will help you start the new year off right! First of all, get your mindset right. It [January] is a fresh start. It's an opportunity to start over, to ditch some of those limiting beliefs when it comes to money and give yourself a fresh outlook, a fresh perspective, a fresh start. The year is new. It is an opportunity to do more, to do better, to change what you've done in the past. - Stephanie Skryzowski What we talk about in this episode: Setting up the right systems for your business. Setting up systems in January will give you the opportunity to refine and shift those systems throughout the year. Assembling your team. Know the differences between an accountant, a CFO, a financial advisor or planner. Make sure you have the right people on your team to support you throughout the year. Scheduling finance time. Build finance time into your schedule, even if you're only going over things by yourself. Mark it in your calendar, and treat it like any other important meeting. Making a detailed finance plan. Make a plan for the year, line by line, for revenue and expenses. Start 2023 with confidence in your numbers by following this monthly routine for a profitable new year! Stephanie Skryzowski looks back at two of our most popular podcast episodes to combine her best tips into one incredibly helpful episode. Setting aside the time every single month to follow the steps outlined in today’s podcast will help you feel more empowered to make decisions in your business. There's very, very few people, programs, and products that are an immediate hit and catapult you to new goals. It happens, but I would say that's not the norm. It's usually a slow build. It's trial and error. It's learning along the way. So if you need to increase revenue…really do a bit of soul-searching as to what works in your business, what is most profitable, and do more of that. - Stephanie Skryzowski Three Prerequisites before creating a Routine: Be a registered business with the state and the IRS. Have a separate business bank account. Do not mix your personal and business finances in one account. Have a system for consistently tracking revenue and expenses every single month. Do this the first week of every month for the prior month. What You’ll need for a Monthly Finance Routine: Reconcile your bookkeeping every month - include every transaction for the month. Review your financials Run your comparative profit and loss: compare last month to the month prior, or last month to the same month in the previous year. Review your balance sheet. Forecast your future - map out the next 12-18 months of your business in terms of revenue, expenses and cash flow. Action Steps to Take to Increase Revenue: Do what works: look at your most profitable revenue streams and double down on those. Can you nurture your current clients for more business or referrals? Action Steps to Take to Decrease Expenses: Look for forgotten recurring expenses/subscriptions that can be eliminated. Reallocate expenses to revenue driving activities. It’s the craziest time of the year! If you’re feeling pressure to close Q4 really strong, take a deep breath and set aside a few moments to listen to today’s podcast episode! We all have phases where we feel stagnant and unsure of our next move. Today on the podcast, you'll hear from Stephanie Skryzowski. In this episode, Stephanie talks about those moments you feel stuck in your business and shares the 3 things she does to help her break out of that rut.  Maybe the end doesn't seem like it's in sight, but we do know that it will be over before we know it. Thinking about what is next in your business is a really great way to kind of clear your brain of all the junk that's happening in there right now and think about the future. I have found that I don't get my best ideas when I'm running from one thing to the next, or in those 30 minute chunks in between Zoom meetings. That’s not where I am feeling my best. I like to create space for innovation. - Stephanie Skryzowski What you’ll learn in this episode: Stephanie’s top 3 tips to get “unstuck”: Forward thinking: Set aside some time to cllear your brain of all the “right now” junk and think about the future of your business and what could be next. Brain dumping is a great way to do this.  Create space for innovation: Actually block out time on your calendar to allow yourself the opportunity to generate momentum by looking at what’s currently working and considering ways to innovate what you’re already doing. Practice gratitude: It may sound cliche, but if you can get into the practice of thinking about one thing each day that you’re grateful for it will feel like a breath of fresh air.
