With this relationship renaissance that is happening right now comes the opportunity to redefine, heal, and allow ourselves to truly be seen, heard, and felt by another. Because we cannot bypass certain parts of ourselves and our partners and expect things to work without DOING the work. (Trust me, I tried.)   Something that often shows up when healing in a relationship is the mother and father wound. Ultimately, our parents are our first relationships and they define how we show up in future relationships whether we are conscious of it or not. I’ve realized that life is a continuum and we are never truly “on the other side” living our happily ever after. There will always be a constant becoming and unbecoming happening simultaneously.
