Nacha just opened registration for Smarter Faster Payments 2023, which will take place April 16-19 in Las Vegas. Nacha Rules now require ACH users to include account validation within a commercially reasonably fraudulent transaction detection system for the first use of new account information. Created and operated by Nacha, Phixius is a peer-to-peer network where financial institutions, fintechs and businesses can exchange and verify payment-related information securely, instantly, and across multiple payment types to streamline payment validations and comply with Nacha Rules. Rob Unger, Nacha’s Senior Director of Network Development & Strategic Initiatives, joined two Phixius customers--Scott Goldthwaite, President of Aliaswire and Todd Youngren, President of Avenu, to discuss Phixius’ account validation application and how being Phixius is helping their businesses.

One of Nacha’s goals has been to increase the use of ACH by charitable and religious groups. To that end, Nacha recently completed a major overhaul of its Nonprofit Toolkit, which has pretty much everything a charitable group would need to start or expand an ACH program. The Toolkit is available at ACHgiving.org. But there are still some challenges to ACH acceptance among both charities and their donors. Nacha worked with Quadrant Strategies, a research driven consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., to identify some of those pain points and to also come up with solutions, and that’s what we’ll be focusing on during today’s podcast.
