Bottas’ World Porridge Day Tribute - 2021 Turkish GP Review

Whoever founded the 'World Porridge Day' couldn't have asked for a better tribute than Valtteri Bottas scoring his first win of the season at the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix. The Finn inherited pole position on Saturday & then drove a controlled race to finish ahead of the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen & Sergio Perez.  In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal discuss the damp-but-boring race at the Istanbul Park Circuit. (Episode description follows below) Use 'PUMAINSIDELINE' to avail a 5% discount on Puma's Motorsport merchandise collection (exclusive for our listeners in India). Subscribe to our newsletter! It's free, informative, insightful and visually appealing. You can read more and sign up. In this episode - why was the circuit not drying up despite no rainfall for most of the race? Is the Pirelli intermediate a racing tyre? Should Mercedes have taken Lewis Hamilton's power unit-induced grid penalty at another race? And of course, should Mercedes have opted for the '0-stopper' strategy for their reigning World Champion? Should Red Bull Racing be pleased with a double podium finish? Mclaren lost a bit of ground to Ferrari - Leclerc's missed podium and Sainz's brilliant recovery drive. The surprising part was that the race saw now SC / VSC despite being held in damp conditions and despite an on-track battle between the two Haas drivers. Dear FIA, Please Let Them Race + Shoey - 2021 Italian GP Review

Daniel Ricciardo's first win with Mclaren or Verstappen-Hamilton's crash? What's your highlight of the 2021 Italian Grand Prix?  For us, there's nothing that can overshadow Ricciardo's first win. You know well just what the Australian has been through post-Red Bull & with Mclaren to get to the top step in Monza. Congratulations, Daniel!😎 Subscribe to our newsletter! It's free, informative, insightful and visually appealing. You can read more and sign up. In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal celebrate Ricciardo's win (without a shoey, sadly!), analyse the Verstappen-Hamilton crash and the subsequent FIA's penalty for Verstappen. What side of the fence are you on? Is it a Hamilton's fault, Verstappen's fault or a racing incident? For us, it's clear that the FIA needs to hit refresh and treat racing incidents as exactly that - racing incidents. First Silverstone, now Monza - will the title rivals come together again. And if they do, will the FIA be trigger happy with penalties as they've been yet? @F1StatsGuru (Sundaram) delivers a mighty stats review - one that is bolstered by Mclaren's performance - one that saw them win and finish 1-2 in the 2021 Italian Grand Prix on merit. Also - overtaking in Monza was almost impossible unless you were Valtteri Bottas. Tune in! Tow, Tow, Tow + 5 Things To Watch For - 2021 Italian GP Preview

The tow is worth about 0.7s per lap - so that's our pick for the buzzword for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. But of course, 'slipstreaming' and 'drafting' come a very close second. The 2021 Italian Grand Prix also sees a return of the F1 Sprint - a second chance to like (or dislike!?) the format a bit more, we guess.  Subscribe to our newsletter! It's free, informative, insightful and visually appealing. You can read more and sign up. In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal preview the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. There's also the not-to-miss stats review from Sundaram in this episode. At the moment, it seems that Monza is most-suited to host the F1 Sprint - can we expect a lot of overtakes this time around? Also, watch-out for Friday evening traffic in Monza - all drivers waiting for the tow!  It's Round 14 in the battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Who's car will hold the edge around the 'Temple of Speed'? Can Lando Norris get his points-scoring rhythm back? Mclaren need to strike back in their battle with Ferrari for P3. Who else is the wild card? Pierre Gasly arrives this weekend as the last winner of the Italian Grand Prix. Yes, 2020 saw a crazy result. Let's see what 2021 throws at us. Zandvoort Shows What F1 Is All About - 2021 Dutch GP Review

OMG, Zandvoort just delivered the most-perfect Formula 1 Grand Prix since a long long time. Here's the best to describe how we saw it - is that a music festival? is that a Formula 1? It's the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix!  Subscribe to our newsletter! It's free, informative, insightful and visually appealing. You can read more and sign up. Max Mania, Super Max, Magic Verstappen and several other terms were used for Red Bull Racing's winning driver this weekend. He was calm, composed and measured as he went about picking up pole position and race win to reclaim the lead in the Drivers' Championship. But could Mercedes-Hamilton have done any different? Remember, there's only so far you can go on race strategy...if you don't have the fastest car.  In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal discuss Valtteri Bottas' act of defiance, did Sergio Perez really deserve the Driver of the Day or was it Fernando Alonso or maybe even Pierre Gasly? While applauding Perez's recovery drives, let's remember that this isn't what the doctor (Marko) ordered for.  Ferrari pulled away from Mclaren in the Constructors' Championship - and it's linked to Lando Norris not weaving his magic on track like he did in the first half of the season. There's a lot more in this episode, tune in!  (Season 2021, Episode 53)  Follow our hosts on Twitter: Sundaram Ramaswami, Soumil Arora and Kunal Shah Music courtesy: Lucien Byfieldt Image courtesy: Red Bull Content Pool Learn more about your ad choices.
